Oh whoops yeah forgot about the Xbox One S. One of two dedicated ones then The other is the Panasonic DMP-UB900

Hard to justify the price when you could buy Xbox one s instead

Unfortunately the Xbox player isn't in the same league and considering picture quality is the prime reason for owning one, that's fairly important. Plus, Xbox doesn't have HD sound. Another NO, NO.

there is also the Panasonic DMP-UB700 at £350

Last time i bought something from rgb they sent me a 4k tv that had a cracked screen and it took them 4 weeks to refund me! Well dodgy company!

Shame they don't do a non curved version. I'm sure I can't be alone in thinking curved TVs are a fad?. They also won't do for hanging on the wall.

Heat from me. Still tempted though

I've got a curved TV. Can't say you notice any difference at all while you're watching it tbh but damn does it look fancy

Nice find. Think I may jump at this price. Prefer a stand alone player than an xbox. Because there are no good remotes for xbox or ps4 and dont want to over heat them. Also the fan noise on ps4 is terrible.

PS4 doesn't do UHD BR. But the one S is noisy you are right there. Great price though.

Does this include the 4k UHD films as per the photo too? Or is this only if bought with a TV?

I'm not actually sure. I ordered it anyway because it's the best price I've seen with or without the films but I think that's just with the TV deal. I'll post here with the answer when it's delivered.

I bought this from Richer Sounds yesterday. They said I have to call Samsung who post out the discs & there was a little leaflet inside the box saying the same. They are sending The Revenant, The Martian and Independence Day (the new one I think). But there was 4k The Martian hiding in the box under the player, so may end up with 2 copies.

That makes this deal potentially look even better. Thanks for your inputs!

Got my conformation email. They also said the uhds are in the box. 2-4 days post. Allready got those 3 movies on blu ray but can watch them again to see how much better the picture is.

Gone back up to £250 now.

That's disappointing, was waiting over the weekend to see if anyone else price matched it before buying, but I've missed out now.

If you mean picture quality (PQ), exactly the same I'd suspect. It's commonly accepted that unless the player alters the information it reads off the disc in some way, sending a modified signal to the display, the PQ of one player will the the same as the next. Anyone telling you different is trying to justify their purchase.

That's not true. They (all DVD/BD/UHD players) process information differently, so you'll find that cheaper players generally suffer when it comes to sound and picture quality. If the transfer of information was as straight forward as you believe, HD sound would be readily available on the unit too.
