Very nice. Amusing to see them selling Poundland Blu Rays for £3.99 each with it.

Agreed @anm72 , under £100 for a 4k Blu-ray players does seem very good
Any opinions on this player? I was gonna go for a Panasonic ub700 (I think that's the model) if the price reveal for the new models on Sunday is disappointing.

After being let down by the LG player, I'm hesitant to just buy any old player now.
If you can get it to match with John Lewis, you're actually getting the WiFi version. The one on District Electrical states no WiFi.

I own this player. I managed to get a very cheap offer on one on eBay. I read up on it before buying and the little info there is on it is very positive, it is basically the incredibly popular UBD-K8500 but without wireless (you have to use ethernet for the smart features) and missing the second HDMI out. Neither of those are of any concern to me so it was a no brainer.

In general I am very pleased with it. The picture definitely seems to be clearer and have better colour than the Xbox One S I was using previously. Plus a major benefit is that it is mostly near silent in operation, no fan noise, though I do find I hear the drive motor spin up from time to time (seems mostly after rewinding or fast forwarding or resuming from pause) but at least it isn't noisy all the time like the One S.

Smart features are decent, has 4k versions of the most popular streaming apps like Netflix, Youtube and unlike many STBs it has Amazon Video too...

Thanks, I'm not too bothered about smart features as the TV would do all that. I might just see if John Lewis will match it for me

I think that this is an error on the John Lewis website, the Samsung website states that this model does not have WiFi.

The Currys/PC World website states that it has 2 HDMI and 2 optical connectors (another error).
