Samsung UE32M5520 LED Full HD 1080p Smart TV, 32" Dark Grey. 5 Years Warranty (Delivered) at John Lewis for £279

Found 7th May
I bought it for £309 over a week ago for the bedroom. Good 1080p tv with a VA panel. The picture quality stands out against my LG 49850V.

The specs look exactly the same as M5500 which is rated 5* by what hifi but this M5520 is supplied with a standard remote control instead of a bundle of standard + smart remote.

Wall mounting requires M4 45mm screws which can be bought from b&q for £4 or may be cheaper from elsewhere.

Description:

Enjoy the sharpness and detail of the Full HD picture, enriched by Samsung's Wide Colour Enhancer, with the M5520. And with Samsung's latest Smart Hub platform you can access a world of online features with ease.

Beautiful Full HD
This Samsung TV displays a picture that is crisp, clear and beautifully lifelike. 32" max for the bedroom...

For the 'You must be mad'...'live in the past' people. Please recommend a better 32" HD TV for a bedroom. I'm in the exact same situation and would love to know what you think is better quality and cheaper that meets the requirements, I certainly haven't seen any 4K TVs that are 32". So please do enlighten us.

Samsung or not, you must be mad paying £300 for a 32inch 1080p in 2018.

What smart tv would you suggest in this price range?... Looking for a 32 inch smart tv for my bedroom. I got the tv in this post for my lad for Xmas from John Lewis for £279...apart from dropping wifi connection it's not a bad tv... better than others in this price range

Has it got to be 32” or would a more mainstream size like 40” be ok?
Heat added.. It's a decent TV.

I'd suggest to get a 40'' instead, there's much more choice in that segment. Edit, I see you're limited in terms of size. It won't be the worst choice then, but still looks like a lot of money for a 32inch, I remember paying £200 for one 3 years ago, albeit granted it wasn't smart, but this was easily fixed with a stick.

Your not wrong this isn't cheap at all... I looked when I got this tv for my lad. You can get others cheaper but I've found that they aren't as vibrant looking image wise as this. Ta for the advice though

Cold for Full HD . I rather buy Polaroid 4k HDR Polaroid 50 inch from ASDA for £315.

Well said. Sometimes i think many people here live in the past. Deal like this would have made sense 10 years ago . I have had my 4k for 3-4 years now and very happy .

I got a Samsung 50" smart 4k tv from John Lewis for just £324 at Christmas
You have to realise that sometimes it isn't up to a choice when you have limited space. Unfortunately manufacturers are taking advantage of this and especially Samsung, because this is the best 32" on the market. It is quite sad when you call Samsung 5 series best on the market, but that's the situation.

Totally agree.

I was in the same situation. I paid around £300 for LG 32LH3000 back in 2010 thanks to HUKD which still works but could not be fitted due to the position of power adaptor. So I had to pay over £300 for this Samsung model because all other options were not good enough especially most the models these days are 720p which to me counts when looking at the screen from a shorter distance.

Depends on the size of the bedroom

There's only one place it can go... can only fit 32" in the space

Had my eye on this and saw the price drop too. I know it's a little pricey, but for full HD and 5 years warranty, I think it's decent.
But genuinely would like to know if there is a better 32" deal out there.

I think you'd have a job getting a better brand, and spec in this size for the price. As I said I got this for my son for Xmas. I've found it looses wifi connection, but I'm apart from it's better than I've seen for the price. Read the reviews on John Lewis...pretty good
For me, bedroom TV does not have to be on par with living room main TV in picture quality. Not sure how much difference there is but LG 32LJ610V 32 Inch Smart Full HD TV is at £249 from Argos. £30 cheaper.

LG is an IPS screen - not quite good to watch in darkness.
You know what for a 32 inch this is the best model out there - I've been looking for a TV for months before I got lucky with the Toshiba deal recently and remember this model fluctuating between £309 – £279 so this is at the lower end of that. Haven't seen a 4K 32 inch anywhere but would be curious to see if anyone else can find one.

OP, heat added for the heads up. Remember to submit a price match for John Lewis! I've bought something only for it to drop 2 weeks later, I sent them their own website link in my request with the new price and they refunded me the difference

Thanks. I have submitted that and JL are refunding me £30.
Now £299. Have they moved the goalposts?
