Nice TV and the 5 year warranty makes this a great offer, thanks for posting
Beat me to it
any reviews? cant find any...
The samsungs apps seem to suck when compared to panasonic or toshiba. both panasonic and toshiba have the full range of bbc apps and the samsung does now have iplayer but its NOT working still. Also some models including this one may or may not suffer from sound dropout from the optical cable. I love the picture on my samsung (40es5500) but samsung are SOOOO SLOOOOWWW at getting even the basic bbc news and iplayer (that they show on their screen shots and box). Also they have one of the poorest 3D pictures on the market. So if you're willing to wait for the apps and only want 2D like me then the samsungs are the TV to go for as their picture is superb.

I have the 40" version of this and love it, just wish I could access Netflix through it... its not available on mine, even though they show it on the image of the TV..
i'm deciding between this or the ue40es5500...not sure which to go for! cant find reviews for either but on AVforums the es5500 has had excellent user reviews
Interetsing comments about the apps. I have read that iPlayer is working for a lot of people now. Also read that Samung (and LG) have the best Web content. I hope Samsung do resolve the issues as I am interested in the 32" version of this.

I read that the Toshiba content and user experience was in fact very basic.

I am interested to know in what way the Panasonic content is better, as this was another set I was considering?

I emailed Samsung about this a week or so ago and asked if Netflix weas available on the 32ES5500 - they said Yes.
Can anyone confirm?

They do indeed.

However, ewww active 3d - Waiting for an LG passive 3d tv to get within my budget.
As an owner of an 40es5500, I can confirm that I can access Netflix perfectly.

Great thanks
I paid £620 from Comet for the 40" version of this (after a 10% voucher and 10% discount from work), amazing TV, both 2D and 3D are great. Blacks are incredibly black and colours are vibrant, makes my old LCD look horrible!

Only problem I have is when on XMB on PS3, as I scroll through the menu, the dynamic brightness changes are very obvious... Haven't noticed it when watching movies or actually playing games but very noticeable on the menu.

Built in Wireless works, but not amazingly well, but to be fair it's on the opposite side of the house to the router - I've yet to try it with ethernet.

The Smart Hub is good, but not amazing, It works well but it isn't as fluid or quick as I'd like. Netflix works great and in HD. There's also an app for iPhone (not sure if it's on android as well or not) which has a keyboard / touchpad as well so the web browser is much more usable than with just the TV remote.

Thanks really useful.

And what of iPlayer, 4OD, Lovefilm, Blinkbox etc?
Is the iPlayer app fixed now?
Do you use the PVR function?... I saw a youtube video and it looke dOk but not great.. din;t look like you could record from the EPG, only by manually specifying the time/date?

Thanks again.
I love my Samsung 37 inch LED
I heard there were issues with the 6th series of Samsung products and the 3D not being full 3D? - Check this Link

I think it's still a great price though. And wonder if the newer 2012 models no longer have this issue?

But I think I might hold off until the 7 series comes down in value.

As you stated yourself, that was in the D series 2011 models. I've heard no complaints about the E series TV's regarding 3D. The 7 and 8 series had their own set of problems last year, you'll need some luck to find a set that is absolutely PERFECT.

I can't find the apps for 4OD or Blinkbox.
- Lovefilm and it works fine, Looks exactly the same as it does on PS3 - HD programs (what little there is) are there too.
- BBC iPlayer is great, very slick looking, again, HD works fine. (Likewise for the BBC Sport App)
If anyone wants me to look for any other apps - let me know

I am having to do a lot of buffering but I'm putting that down to fact that a) I'm watching in HD and refuse to do otherwise and b) I'm having to use my laptop as an access point for it due to the distance from the router.

I've just ordered a powerline adaptor - fingers crossed that'll help my connection problem.

Haven't had a chance to try the PVR function, my only spare hard drive is plugged into the my freeview HD box and has a lot of recordings on it so I'm stuck using that until I can clear my planner...
If I can dig out another external HDD I'll give it a try but it won't let me use my flash drive (write speed is too slow)

Get a set of homeplugs
had a look at these in currys, the 37's look more like 32's with them having no panel surrounding the screen. think i would have to go for a 50" just to make it look like a 42
Any DSE/banding on these sets?
Got one of these from John Lewis last week and I have to say that the picture quality is fantastic.
It didn't come with glasses so I haven't tried the 3D yet but they're only £25 or so for two pairs. I think you have to make sure you get the 2012 model ones.
BBC iPlayer works well. I just need to get an external HDD to use timeshift/recording features.
Beware, the 37 inch panel across the whole Samsung range is of a lower quality (made by a Chinese company) than 40 inch and above panels which are made by Samsung. You would notice the difference if they were side by side.
Is there a version of this without 3D?

I'm considering the 32", the picture in store is fantastic, do you know if these screens are as good as the 40" plus?
the 37" does look rather small, it reminded me of my 32" screen... but viewing them side by side i noticed that the 40" have far better picture than the 37" ...good price but a no-no for me! i'm going for the ue40es5500!

I emailed them form their wesbite. They took about 3 days to respond. My question was specifically about the Samsung 32ES5500 model (5 series, not 6 series). There is no reply email address, but you can try the link in the body text below.
