In B4 some says much better than an LCD TV. Even though this IS an LCD TV.

Preemeptive pendantism, that's taking it to another level!

Hummmm close to buying but i'm sure they will go down more now all the TVs are launching with freeview HD chipsets onboard.

If you use Save50 would quidco track at 3% as well?

Don't forget 3D TV... worth the wait for that also?

As a previous owner of the Samsung UE46B8000, just like to say if people do buy this, then I would urge you that when you get it home check that there are no clouding, shadowing or edge-bleed effect. This is a known fault in the Samsung LCD (with edge-lit LED) TVs.

How do you check this?

- At night turn on the TV
- Choose an AV source input from the TV
- Do not turn on the equipment on that port
- You should have a black/dark grey screen that is same across the whole screen.

If the screen has lighter areas (usually the size of small tennis balls) on the screen, it is faulty.
If there is very bright bleed-in from the edges, even if very small, then the screen is faulty.

In either case, I would return the item as Samsung is aware of the fault but cannot do anything to rectify this.

Just a note of caution from my five months of frustration with Samsung, who appeared not to give a damn. I eventually returned the TV and purchased a Panasonic TX-P50V10B, which I am really happy with.

Although, in some circumstances the picture quality of the Sammy is fantastic, watching Movies was a really painful experience as LCD/LED TVs produce a 'cardboard cutout' /soap opera effect, which is totally unnatural for a film.

Good luck to all.

Bargain what a TV, If you set it up correctly the picture is just out of this world !! Never mind how slim and how good looking it is..
