Right I know this won't be for everyone as it is quite expensive for a TV, but I fell in love with the new LED range as soon as I saw them and £969.99 seems to be the best price around. Considering these were about £1500 a month ago.

It most certainly is for a TV, just under 3cm!!!!!

very thin for a tv and sounds like a very good price voted hot

i agree this is a super hot deal

ofcourse you can get a normal lcd tv much cheaper but this is led

i would have thought they stayed at thier normal price for ages and this price drop is very hot indeed:thumbsup:

mod

Very good price indeed

Are you sure these were £1500, I think that was the 7 series LED?

Yeah Curry's were selling them at that but have lowered it now, Bennetts and House of Frazer are still selling at £1499 and £1599....I think that was a little overprice tbh, but I didn't think they'd go below £1000 till autumn or Christmas time.

This appears to be £1099 at John Lewis with a 5 yr warranty. Do they still pricematch? Regardless I suspect the extra is worth it for the warranty.

Does anyone know if you can collect in store at Comet using the voucher?? It seems like you can.

Looks like John Lewis already reduced their price once as price runner was showing £1199 for them, pretty sure they seem to pricematch most deals

Its not a proper LED TV. Its just an LCD with LED black light. Proper OLED TV's cost £1000+ for just 11".

Great price, nice find:thumbsup:

Yeah it just uses side mounted LED's instead of the usual backlight. But have you seen this TV?? I was watching the football on Sky Sport HD the other day and the colours are amazing better than anything else I've ever seen, the 'greeness' of the pitch looked so real!

Contrast on this TV seems fantastic too!

I like the fact that the contrast ratio is mega... lol, voted hot though, as its a great price for a great tv.

Have had this TV (may have been a differant LED model) on display in work for a while, and it is the best picture quality i've ever seen on any TV. And insanely thin! Like someone previously mentioned the contrast is absolutely fantastic, from the way the tele is lit. The fact it hasn't got a backlight behind the entire screen means it produces the best blacks, and running off Blu Ray it looks amazing. I'm sick of seeing the same film on it but at least it looks good!

Hot deal definetly.

under 3cm isn't thin??!

any thinner and it'll snap surely

Is this TV better than the one I posted ]here

Just a note that these are series 7 sets. (the latest so far in the UK)

But Series 8 sets are due out soon. Improvements include 200Hz rather than 100hz to reduce motion blur.

Having said that. Just go into a PC world and have a look at these LED backlit screens in action.

Superb picture compared to any other.

Alhough i quite like the look of Panasonics new range of plasmas (but have yet to see them demo'd in the shops)

They're the exact same screens, just the one you posted has internet connectivity functions on it and 'widgets'....but you could buy a PS3 with the price difference that can do all those features and more.

i actually see this instore and compared to my panasonic plasma its super dooper thin!!
great picture and good price, wonder how long before oled tv's reach this size at a reasonable price...

avforums did a review of this tv and reported how there is a major flaw in its lighting system (cant dim specific areas).

Can anyone confirm this. I need a new monitor

My sister has had this tv for a month and I was surprised how good it was and she doesn't even have an hd source. I am tempted at this price but my le40 is only 18 months old don't think the missus would have it,I really want to get the best out of my bluray and sky hd(do you think she would go for that? didn't think so)

well u can always replace ur missus in that case,

LG have said that they will have the first 32inch OLED tv on the market in summer 2010 and no doubt the bigger ones wont be to far behind. They will be more expensive than this but the picture is suppose to be what HD was to standard def a massive leap forwards and 1080p will be left behind. So if you have an HD LCD TV make do in 18 months from now these should be around and these are like pains of glass and most people keep there TVs for at least 3 years so why bother with this.

I'm voting this cold because its no big improvement on any other LCD/plasma and because OLED is in the very near future i will put the grand towards one of the OLED's and make do with my 47inch toshiba 1080p set.

by the time oled comes , 2k picture will be comming, by that time 3d will be comming, and by then glasses free 3d tvs will be comming , and by that time ect, ect

this is the best tv at the best price end of story, hot

I don't understand the whole deal with LED LCD TVs. They just have a different backlight which gives the abilty to control the light levels better. So higher contrast ratios and thats about it. Ultimately with backlight technology they will always be behind plasma TVs for black levels and the ability to produce vibrant colour.

I wonder these huge "improvements" people are seeing are more to do with the engine than the backlight. The price premium isn't worth it.

Voted hot because a quick search suggests this is a good price.

agreeded.

its the best price for an led on the market

great price amazing in action, best picture I have ever seen on a tv. So thin and you can get a wall mount from samsung that hangs it like a picture even on a plsaterboard wall apparently because its so light without the base.

great price have some heat - atleast some people on here know about decent tvs and not the rubbish bargain ones that are peddled on here. Id love this in a bigger size as Ive already got an older sammy 46" model

hot from me:thumbsup:

you can get 9% off comet gift vouchers if you buy them via mbna lifestlye, can you use the discount and collect and pay at store?

Yes, not to mention holographic projectors........and teleport devices. "This day and age" is SO disappointing!

It's not the best TV, not by a long shot. Pioneer and Panasonic make far better televisions.

Voted cold because Volkswagens are much better.:whistling:

Ooops,wrong thread.:-D

Damn fine price for a lovely Television.

ohh man, i bought my sony 40 lcd recently for 999 from currys, damn I would have bought this if i have waited for few more days. what to do. feel like unlucky

But voted hot.

Seems pretty good on electricity too.
Only 100w running, and 0.1w standby.

How is this hot, you can get older samsung models for half the price almost.
It is thinner? Wowee. What you gonna do slide another one behind it?

Its thinner, much much brighter, has much blacker blacks and looks better on Standard Definition the older Samsungs. Also uses much less energy :whistling:
