No LED refers to the backlight technology used, the display panel is still LCD.

If you run in "Game Mode" and suffer the loss in visual quality then sure, its OK for gaming.

If you really dont want to go plasma, then the only decent "gaming" TVs are generally £1000+. Either way, Samsung have some of the worst screens on the market in their lower end models, the type generally found in lesser known cheap brands such as UMC.

im looking to buy a LCD and have a budget of about £550 i do play alot of games on xbox mostly cod etc.. but i would like a 5year guarentte thrown in with the price.

Would pref a 37/42" whats peoples suggestions?

What a load of crap.

Guys need to do some researched before buying an led/lcd. The reasons why this is so cheap is because it uses led edge lighting not back-lighting which is the worst led configuration.

Even for an edge lit this is cheap. You'd find it difficult to get a 'proper' backlit for less than a grand and there is also a lot of misleading advertising on back lighting too.

There is a lot more to it than just Edge lit and back lit. You wont get a full led backlit LCD for under a grand, well over a grand maybe. You have to take into account whether or not it has local dimming as well which also helps. An edge lit with local diming can match and possibly outperform a backlit tv, if you search google for this you will find an example. The thing that lets this particular TV down is that it is only 50hz. You are better spending a wee bit more and getting a tv from the 6000 series, i.e. the 6100 or 6530. If you are a hardcore gamer that will notice a bit of lag that the majority of people wont then go for a plasma however be prepared to constantly tweek the picture settings for optimal picture, something you dont have to do with LCD type tvs (including ones that use LED lighting after initial setup). LED/LCD v plasma, there are always for and against for both types of technology, personal choice really
