Currys just dropped prices on samsung 2012 tv's ,the UE40ES8000 is now £999 surely worth a punt, probably clearing the deck before next years models arrive.

Remember, the more you pay for something the better it is......;)
I was always a BIG Samsung fan for TV`s but with 3D and their active glasses have steered well clear as the glasses are so expensive and you have to be so careful as a lot of active glasses only work with one or two TV`s......................so PLEASE double check this before making any purchase.

I looked at one a year or so ago that was reduced....didn`t come with even a single pair of glasses.....then before I purchased checked for the glasses and couldn`t find a single supplier as was an older TV being superceded.

I have defected to LG for their passive 3D......is as good and affordable glasses...as passive cinema ones

also check out

lol delivery charge is a joke

ps do you work for them?
Totally agree with Biggunspaul comments. When they first came out the Samsung 3D active glasses were very expensive depending on where you bought them. The best and dearest pair now are between £30 & £40 and they are excellent and even the two pairs for less than £30 are very good. In my not so humble opinion the active 3D glasses are so much better than the passive ones I'm surprised they are still making them. I have the 55" ES8000 and the 3D picture is unbelievable with the passive glasses.

Please check your facts before posting. 2012 sets from Samsung and a few others all have active glasses that work via Bluetooth and are cross compatible (I think it might be Panasonic and Sony that are the other two). The Samsung glasses are the cheapest of all three manufactures though at around half the standard price, you can also pick these up in double packs for between £20-£30 when on offer (which is quite frequently). Granted, that is not as cheap as passive glasses, but if yo want an active set and cost of glasses is an issue for you, then Samsung is your cheapest option.

I have the 55" es7000 (same tv but just black surround) and agree with how stunning the 3d is on this tv.i looked at loads of 3d tv's and passive ones never looked as good to me,the 3d was a bit weak IMO.One thing to note is how comfy and light the cheap samsung 3d glasses are and the battery in them seems to last forever.

Don't know what I done but somehow I managed to delete my very first post, what a good start lol
Biggunspaul im looking at the Samsung UE40ES8000 what's the motion control like in real terms and the smart evolution have you used it and the picture as its a lot of money to spend on gymicks as i call them? thanks
