Just a note this is a eastern European model. So i'm not sure if the free view tuner in this will pick up any uk broadcasts.

Edit to that yes it will it seems.

Seems way too good to be true

Seems EPIC. What's the problem with it?!

Will John Lewis price check against iBood?

It's a daily deal so prob not.

Hot deal.

BUT this TV is not a UK spec and doesn't have a DVB-T2 tuner. Therefore it will not pick up Freeview HD channels, only regular Freeview channels. May not be a deal breaker if you're hooking up a Sky/Virgin/Freeview HD box anyway but worth noting.

Cheapest UK spec is currently £379.98 and was posted on HUKD today http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-40inch-smart-tv-with-built-wifi-freeview-hd-only-379-direct-tvs-1836909

238th most popular site in it's own country (Netherlands), sounds like a real deal. Hot.

Placed an order! Thanks

I hear bad reviews about IBood. Anyone bought from here before? For 80£ more you can get HD and UK model. Is it worth me getting this one over that one?

Looks to me that you have to have a TVB-T2 tuner to receive freeview HD channels. You'll receive the normal Freeview channels without it.

I wouldn't think so to be honest.

Yes. Thats the point I was making. This deal from iBOOD is a grey import that won't pick up Freeview HD Channels.

Buy this model from a reputable UK retailer and it will have the DVB-T2 tuner and will pick up Freeview HD.

John Lewis only price match against retailers that have high street outlets.

And even if iBOOD were on the high street I'm pretty sure they'd still say no as it's not technically the same TV they are selling.

I got some earphones from them a couple of weeks ago, sent by UPS from Germany no problems at all

It is not a grey import as such - simply a European site shipping to the UK.

Not sure how the 2 year warranty would work though - could be quite expensive shipping it back to mainland Europe after the 6 month return period has ended ... bad enough a member of the public trying to courier a TV in the UK.

Says Expected shipping date is 12th March. Looks like I'll be waiting a while then

X) Crazy people. I paid £499 for mine from John Lewis and the peace of mind of knowing its guaranteed for 5 years is easily worth the extra £200(not to mention the fact that the Freeview HD works). I wouldn't even consider buying something that big from another country, its too much hassle if you have to return it . My tv before that one went wrong several times in the 2 years I had it.

Not this. I mean a pany 50" luckily I had 5 year accident warranty £250 so u claimed off their . they came me money £540 for a new one.
Now I've got one from john lewis 5 year warranty free

Although a good price on the surface, when weighed up, the deal overall is not hot.

Voted cold.

don't samsung have a european warranty so that it could be repaire in the uk if it goes faulty?

Sir_Didymus

Will John Lewis price check against iBood?

No as the company iBood is based in Amsterdam and outside of UK.

Avoid if you can I ordered from Ibood last TV Samsung Deal they had I never got it, I will try and buy from a UK seller a bit more money and better service than this European online shop.

Great price. I'm currently looking for a 3D Smart model at the moment with Plex capability.

its 379.99 at argos

100hrz refresh rate? Are we back in 2008 lol! Go for one with 500+ if you are gaming.

will Lewis price check against argos. just seen same product cheaper at argos. this make model on at 379.99 bt over 440 at lewis?

Exceptionally bad reviews for this website, all very damming and all say the same thing... You pay your money, they have problems with suppliers and then it takes an age to get the money back. Nice price, terrible dealer. Cold

Nonsense - you don't need anything more than 100hz which is in fact 120hz when it boils down to it ... anything above that is pretty much marketing nonsense dreamed up to attract fools like you.:D

You have to compare like with like. JL give a 5-year warranty. Argos give a 1-year warranty. Samsung charge around £150 to upgrade a 1-year warranty to 5 years.

Yes, provided you use gold-plated HDMI cables you don't need to worry about refresh rates.
