Epic deal!!! Great tv!!

Could you get a similar spec TV that doesn't include 3D or smart features (not interested in those) for cheaper?

Same as my requirement. I bought this last week and found it ticked all boxes. You can get the dongle from Tesco Direct for £20 and arrange to collect it from your nearest store for free.

£450 at tesco with 5 year guarantee

Got this tv minus the 3D around 1 year ago from PCWorld during a special offer.

Great TV! The picture is pretty dam amazing.

I mainly use it to play my PS4 on and the fact it has a 100Hz refresh rate (My model) means any games I play that reach 60fps look great. I believe 3D TV's have something like a 200Hz refresh rate so this will be very good

ONLY problem I have ever had with this TV is the WiFi signal occasionally dropping out. I'd be watching something using the BBC i Player app and it will randomly drop signal for no reason. I have to reconnect to my wifi and enter my password and it will work again. Very annoying. If you have the ability to plug in an ethernet I would 100% recommend it

The TV also quite recently had a firmware update which made the UI a little faster which is always nice

Overall I'm pleased

I agree with you. The new Samsung Smart TV's are very nice to use though, just hope the smart features are suppourted for a considerable amount of time

time will tell

RicherSounds does the UE40H6400 which is the 2014 model with 5 year guarantee for 439 using VIP 10 pounds off voucher.

http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/samsung/ue40h6400/sams-ue40h6400

It's a great TV.

People talking about 5 year guarantees, etc.

If you get any problems and you're half decent at writing an email, you can get a Samsung television repaired out of its warranty date.

I had an issue with my Samsung TV well out of its warranty, and Samsung said they would repair or replace if it was found to be a major fault. Their centre confirmed the LCD was faulty, and Samsung swapped it for a current model, which I was amazed at.

Do Samsung make a 40" set like this without 3D/Smart TV function? Don't need them

Do you know if you get a reflection of this? I currently have big patio doors and in certain lights the tv turns into a mirror, impossible to see in, thanks

Hi
Relatively new here so appreciate help !
Can SMART TV's be hacked into?
If so can their WIFI be turned off entirely?/switched on only when needed?

I prefer no SMART features but would like the 3D!
Anybody know of any other options < £450?

Was looking at this LG posted here on HUKD:
hotukdeals.com/dea…770?page=2#comments
(Search on model no LG42la620v if link does not work!)
Seems to be a larger screen size!

BTW Richer Sounds offers a further £10 off when you join their VIP club
(Enquired today and only asked for a phone no and email!
Can order products for you, print off the £10 voucher emailed and present on collection when products arrive in a weeks time!
Hope these details helps someone especailly if you are thinking of Price matching with John Lewis or anyone else!)

(Appreciate earliest response as in new accomodation and need to watch the World Cup..... in 3D without being hacked into hopefully!)

Ta

this might be a daft question but can you watch the tv without the 3D? I dont want that feature but am looking for a decent (picture/sound) smart function tv with freeview HD.

Assumed you could but new to all this technology so wanted to confirm thanks

I have bought this TV at Argos the other week for £599.99, it's an exceptional TV. It's also worth noting that I emailed Argos saying about the price drop and they are sending out a £100 cheque to cover the difference so it's worth knowing for anyone else who may have recently bought this.

You need to activly enable the 3D option [unless its a 3D video/channel] otherwise its just a bog standard tv

I had the 6400(this years model) and the audio was out of sync, it looked like a badly dubbed foreign film. I phone Samsung and they just casually said "return it to the shop but try a new one before you leave as this is a known fault". I tried the new one in store and it did it as well, the staff also just said "yeah its common with samsung led TVs". They suggested a sony or a panasonic, I went with a Sony and its absolutely fantastic, it demolished the samsung in almost every way

what sony model did you get?

can I miracast to this tv from an ipad air and htc one x?

I don't think so as I don't believe either has miracast support.

THis is exactly the same as the UE40F6400 but without the touch smart remote.

This is a great deal, I bought last year's 6300 model.

Do you run from an AV amp to the TV? as I found this as well.

Connecting the Sky box direct to the TV sorted it, and then I linked the sound back to the amp via an optical cable.
All other sources are fine through the amp.

The 6400 has quad core processing, 400hz CMR compared to 200 on this TV, so not quite exactly the same

I tried this without reply after first getting it checked at my cost at Samsung official repair shop.Panel was bad and it was a common fault.First I phoned Samsung and the polite girl I got said the her line manager refused to speak to me.She then gave me an address in Gateshead to which I sent a copy of the engineers report stating common panel fault.Never heard back,so I guess you were lucky.

Then speak to Citizens Advice. If you've bought a telly that has a major fault within the past few years, chances are you're owed at least a partial refund.

It sounds attractive in the first spot bit there are certain things to be taken into consideration.
1. It's a cash only price which means no card payment applicable at this price

2. A newer model Samsung UE40H6400 which is more advanced 40 inch full HD LED with 400 hz refresh rate and usb recording and quad core processor available at Richer Sounds for 449 with price off of 200 quids. .

Kindly note am not trying to defeat or questioning my friend who posted the deal from argos rather am helping our community. .

Great TV.. But, whatever I try I am getting motion blue with the ball whilst watching football. Anyone have any picture calibration settings?? Specifically for sport if possible.

So the general consensus is that the 6400 is better? I can't decide between the two!

In my particular case I called Samsung and said I wasn't happy it only lasted X amount of years before developing a fault.

They told me to take it to my nearest Samsung Service Centre (for televisions), which was about 10 miles away.

The centre confirmed the fault and sent a copy of their report to Samsung, who then delivered a replacement TV and collected the old one at the same time.

So my advice is to call Samsung first, and failing that, seek advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau who will be more than happy to help.
