First deal so apologies for any thread faux pas. Looking for a 40" smart tv and having seen the ue40h6670 at Currys for £499, found this ostensibly identical model for £489 at Crampton and Moore. Have had confirmation from JL that they will price match this so about to order from them for the warranty.

Difficult choice between this and the ue40h6400 at £449 at Richer Sounds, which also seems a cracking deal - both these sets get very good reviews, and the only differences are that the 6700 has 600hz (vs 400hz) and local micro dimming, along with a slightly more traditional stand. Any experts out there with a preference?

Why is this cold guys? I was looking at getting this from Currys at the weekend

I bought this TV from JL for 549 a few weeks back and is great. There is absolutely no backlight bleeding and the screen is uniformly lit. The micro dimming is worth the extra money. The smart features are excellent and the quad core processor makes everything run smooth. The menus load very quick. The only problem I would say is, the so called "Soap Opera Effect." I still need to find out how to make it look normal when watching movies. Anyway this is happening with all high refresh rate TV's

Turn off motion plus, to get rid of the soap opera effect. .

Great deal, very similar TV to the H6400, the panel is the same, so the 600hz - 400hz comparison is purely a digital addition, not a panel based difference. Same with the local dimming so with calibrated settings you are unlikely to notice any differences. However, this is a great deal though, even if just for the freesat tuner and more classy stand (which doesn't swivel like the H6400).

Managed to get this TV for £489 in the end.

Originally purchased it for £679! but as JL were messing me around with the price match after agreeing, and seeing as the price dropped to £549, I returned it for a full refund.
Then bought another and did the price match bringing the total down to £489! A great TV for a great price.

I had to get the TV from the second order replaced due to a single stuck (red) pixel but JL were fine about it and the replacement set is fine.
So best to check for stuck/dead pixels asap as Samsung still seem to have issues making panels defect free.

Quite a lot or reports of lip sync issues with the 6 series TV's i.e. here -> avforums.com/thr…12/ and elsewhere, but I'm looking to purchase.

Has anyone verified with freeview (not sure if it's SD or HD channels affected) using one of the latest firmwares (that might not be available OTA, and need flashing via USB)

Would be great to know, Thanks

John Lewis also price matched the 55 inch model - the UE55H6700, at least they did for me, it made it a real bargain at £880 from John lewis with a 5 year guarantee
