Do you have a time machine to go back? We can only vote on the here and now. Currently appears to be a good price.
FFS. Didn't I say 'this may be the best price now'. Just warning people this price fluctuates. Some people!

BTW - Its £20 cheaper at eBuyer
It’s a really good tv, probably worth this much for those of you who need a new tv right now.

On the other hand I picked it up over the new year for £289 from John Lewis, so it can go for less. I believe it’s around this time of year TV manufacturers start to announce this years models, so I’d expect this price to drop sooner rather than later.

Edit: it may be worth the extra £20 for a 6 year warranty from richer sounds, but @Bestard gave some cheaper options. I believe I even saw this tv for the same price but with the 20% off code on the Co-op eBay

As far as I am aware the 40" model doesn't suffer the issues that seem prominent with the 49" version

Nice I hope you get a lot of wear out of it, in the winter xxx
A lot of tv review sites are saying that you really need a bigger screen than this to fully appreciate ultra hd . Anyone like to disagree?

It's 2 years with the merchant in the EU, 1 Year manufacturers warranty, most shops emphasis the 1 year in the hopes people don't enquire further.

I bought one of these and it was a noticeable step up from a 7 year old Sony 1080p. I’d be holding off for a better price myself though, these will go back down when Samsung release their new models this month. Under £300 is a good price.
Has been cheaper at Tesco for the last few months. They just put it up to the same price a few days ago. Very annoying

Well that thread I quoted from is for the 40" version and Ross_87 wasn't happy with the device at all due to light bleed issues on TWO of them! It doesn't impact me, I just gave a warning to Druff to check for light bleed asap.

"Ross_8719th Dec 2017
I wouldn't touch this years Samsung's as the quality is crap. I had to return two 6400's on the trot for ridiculous light bleed. This is just shots of one of the Tv's and the camera actually makes it look better than it is, it was a lot worse in person. [Image] Samsung TV support are rubbish as well. Richer Sounds referred me to them and they booked an engineer as they confirmed a fault. I waited in on the booked date and no-one arrived. Called them up and they denied ever booking an appointment and only when I challenged a manager, did they admit they cancelled it because "they shouldn't have admitted there was a fault as it is within tolerances". Tolerances my @rse."

Thanks for the heads up.
I had heard about light bleed on the 49 and 55 inch version but people saying the "40 is fine. Also a quote further down in that same thread below. I will be sure to inspect the TV once it arrives anyway I am quite anal about these things lol.

Is that the 49" or 55" model? Apparently those models have a IPS panel where as the 40" model has a VA panel. The IPS panels seem to have had a lot of issues with backlight bleed, while the VA panel seems to be less susceptible.

It was the 49". I got fed up with the shoddy quality and service from Samsung, so returned the final TV and bought a Panasonic TX700b and couldn't be happier. No backlight bleed in a dark room (it's a bedroom TV) and the black levels are great for the price (this coming from a FALD TV owner
