Also except the title needs editing, you don’t get £200. Back, only if u buy other items
TV seems to have decent reviews.

I paid £289 for this exact same model just after black friday, I don't think this is a great price seen as though it was available for way less on multiple occasions especially being 2017 model when we are 4 months into 2018.
This is on offer for £349 at the coop electrical with 48 months warrentry plus topcash back at 2.1% cashback
I got this tv in the 50" model for just £324 at Christmas.
From John Lewis
£349 currently at coop electrical, pretty sure John Lewis will price match

Seems odd. The only time the 50" model was £324 was from ebay after applying the one day 20% discount.
You wouldn't have thrown away the receipt from the purchase though?

No I went to my local John Lewis store, and showed them the Xmas eBay deal with the 20% off and managed to get a price match.

That aside, irrelevant for this thread. You didn’t even say if the 50” is any good, only came here to try and brag that you got it cheap. So unless you have a time machine it’s time to move on. This is a reasonable price for this tv at the moment.

There's a clue in what this range is priced at as to whether the 50" is any good.

As for this specific price from JL, they don't price match against discount codes.

Yes they do.

I’m not trying to brag about anything. As I’ve told others in the past, eBay often run this 20% off code a few times per year, they were doing the code about just 3 weeks ago, just got to keep your eyes peeled, then you won’t miss out, oh and dry your eyes.
If you do a simple search then you will find many deals for this TV over the last 4 months. I was another who got the 50inch for just over £300 from Amazon.

The point is, that if you don't urgently need to get a TV it may be worth monitoring the price as it does get cheaper.
garethcollins92515 m ago

Yes they do.

If you want to boast about getting the 50" model of this budget 8bit telly with very average HDR at whatever price go ahead but I know JL don't price match discount codes, though I'm not getting drawn in to a tear up about it with you.

Why would I have any reason to lie???. I would like to see you try and find myself and others a better deal for a branded 4K 8 bit 50” 4K tv, I also think you need to let the swelling on your head go down a bit, because you seem to think you know it all about John Lewis and price matching policy!!!!
strange are the ways of HUKD

My deal for £349 went cold a month ago and now this is hot!!

Let it go. They matched the price for many people whilst that code was running. It happened, move on.

On a side note, I picked up the 50 inch for under £300 and it's nothing great, but very good for the price. At op price I would look at other models.
£30 extra gets the 6400 at BT shop which you might get JL or RS to price match.

What's better about the 6400? A member of staff in Curry's told me it's a the old discontinued model. She could of been talking rubbish though I don't know.

The 6400 comes with the extra smart remote (you get 2 remotes), which is much better than the basic one. It has better colours and contrast as well. Not aware of many other differences. It's definitely a better model though.
6400 i think has freesat. bought this tv for parents £289 from john lewis a few months back. its been good so far for the money.

Honestly I don’t know, but the 6400 looked a lot better when I bought one at Richer Sounds last week on a price match, noticeably better contrast and brightness, and it gets the best reviews as far as I found for 40-43” TVs. Oh the smart remote is really good. Has voice commands which I use all the time. And no motion blur or judder. Well worth the money.

I cant believe they're still trying to get over £350 for a model that is now prehistoric.

Samsung don't even make this model anymore, as it stood, this was just a recycled version of the ku6400, they just reused the parts left over from the KU6400 to make a "new model"... the MU6400.

Unless you need a tv desperately, then skip this and wait, it's not worth it at that price.
