It warms my heart to feel I'm doing my bit.On a separate note; Are Richer Sounds really a good retailer nowadays? When I was at Manchester University in the early 80s they were a right dodgy outfit with their stock spilling out all over the pavement , rain or shine. Spiv-like sales staff pestering passers-by.

So if it died after a year you wouldn' t regret paying £5. To extend its life by 4 more and potentially still have an item with some value?

Nice but just £30 more gets you a 6 year warranty... £5 a year for peace of mind seems a low price to pay.

Think this was cheaper by 20-30 pounds around Black Friday but appreciate you can’t go back in time!!

Got this Black Friday 2016 £299 with 10% discount at Tesco too, it’s a nice tv.
This same tv? You sure it' same model number and 4k. That would be an awesome price. When do Samsung release 2017 models? Just before the year begins?

What if it dies after 12 months?
I get it nowadays most people don’t keep TVs for 6 years but failure is very common specially with these cheaper budget ranges.
I’d say more than 12 months warranty is essential for a large TV and well worth it in this case.
