Current lowest price. Almost back to the pre-Christmas £349 we saw at PRC/RGB Direct. Being sold by Hughes through Game.

John Lewis being difficult about price match as its Hughes selling through Game, even though both have physical stores. Some people have managed, so worth a try as it saves £9 on buying with or price matching Crampton & Moore if you've been looking at that.

Nice find I had it price matched against Crampton & Moore earlier so do I request it again or just pay extra £9
Any idea if if this will drop any more in price ?
Ordered and price match submitted to jl; will update if it's approved

Do you take the risk waiting for JL to reply back with the possibility this one will go out of stock?

I have just submitted a request to JL for the price match against Game, who do I order it from lol?

Oh definitely submit again, they need to be pushed on this 'never knowingly undersold' nonsense as often as possible.

As for a price drop, I reckon retailers are selling a lot of this telly at £349/£350, especially judging by the popularity of any deal for it on here. There might be a further £20 off somewhere by the end of sales season. At least with John Lewis you'd be protected for 28 days after you buy it, should there be any further drops soon.
Anyone know what the response time is for gaming? - response lag

Wow, that's amazingly generous of them
My PRC Direct price matched (£349) 40MU6400 from John Lewis should be delivered this Thursday.

If I submit my price match details/CASE number to them when I receive my TV for the difference to be refunded, can I then submit another price match at a later point if I see the product cheaper again?

This is the first time I have used John Lewis & I'm a bit lost with the price match terms.

Edit: I'm asking because I feel like this TV might be around £330 or less in a few days

From JL once they confirm your price match. Then you buy it from JL at their price an they will send you money back once you decide if your keeping the tv.
Guys if you are ordering this TV, who are you ordering it from ? lol

I've never done this price match thing with JL and worried by the time JL get back to me the TV at Game will be sold out? Help please....

I have been looking for this type of answer!

How many price matches can be submitted, not just requested, after purchase?
Yeah I read 21ms somewhere also, and this is the first for a price match for me also to JL so just wondering if it drops more via another retailer would they then drop it to that price or just the original I submitted before buying, or do I need to resubmit it again

Check the above answer.. JL don't usually take too long to get back few hours really. But it is a gamble.

Hi Chapo

That's certainly my understanding. You should have 28 days from purchase to reclaim any further difference if a better deal comes up. Probably worth speaking to customer services - 03456 049 049 - to tell them you've already had a price match and need to claim another.

As you'll see from my comment above I reckon £330 is possible too, it will sell out extremely quickly at that price.

Hi g1to1

You wont be surprised to learn that JL have no intention of sticking to their 'never knowingly undersold' promise, unless you make them!

I'm afraid you'll have to keep submitting price match requests in relation to any lower prices that come up at eligible retailers in order to benefit from the price match promise.

As far as I'm aware it's 'unlimited', I can see them pulling some sort of unreasonableness argument if you mage to submit 1 a day for a week on the same product.

Does this model really have FRC? The only place I can find that info is on displayspecifications, but they have quite a few models listed with incorrect specs
You gotta feel sorry for JL with all these price match requests they get...lol Maybe if they spent more time checking prices more often around the clock they wouldn't need to be receiving thousands of requests.

I'm amazed that they don't do what Richer Sounds do and refuse to price match unless a similar warranty/guarantee is being offered by the competitor. That would knock 90% of the price match requests in relation to TVs on the head.

I refuse to feel sorry for JL, they can be a pain in the arse about the price matches. Depends who you reach through customer service but sometimes they'll say they can't accept if the competitors guarantee isn't the same. Besides, it's all business. JL isn't exactly a dying shop and most of their stuff is overpriced anyway🤔

Hi Chapo

I can't find confirmation and as you say there have been known errors on display specifications regarding an LG (saying it was 10 bit when it is 8+FRC) and the 55" MU7000 Samsung (saying it was 8+FRC, when in fact it's 10).

This is what someone else had to say about the difference between the 40MU6400 and 40MU6120 (which is definitely 8 bit):
hotukdeals.com/com…193 which suggests the 6400 at least has better colour processing.
Should also contact Richer Sounds they will beat price up to £100, 6 year tv warranty and Quidco cashback will ring them tomorrow: richersounds.com/inf…at/
This is the TV I just brought and it's really great am liking the new style remote. (other half still using the old style) so nice to have both. I got as has Freesat and am reusing my old sky dish. I used to have two cables going to my lounge but for the last year only one tuner was working so now have one going to lounge and one going to this TV. This is great as we needed a new roof aerial installed otherwise

Unfortunately I think that RS will say no, on the basis of this doesn't: "carry a comparable guarantee" in their terms and conditions

Dealio, that's really interesting, I've not had that happen yet, but I've only submitted three price match requests ever, so not a huge sample.

In a sense I kind of feel that those individuals who are refusing to price match due to differences in guarantee are quite sensible, but that clearly isn't how JL usually operate their price match.

I worked there a few years ago for some time. They did do this for a short while but then pulled it due to a legality issue. They couldn't stipulate that the warranty period has to match. JL warranty is "Free" and you can't compare nor price match something that isn't being paid for. Seems daft but that change came from the top and we no longer had to take that into consideration.

Didn't know this had FreeSat. So this could be a viable cheap upgrade from my current Samsung 40" 1080p set...

Update: Single tuner is a bit lackluster.

Yes. 10 bit panels got HDR 10+ support. And just the price. You wouldn't get 10 bit for this price or so low down the range on 2017 models. This just has better colour reproduction compared to mu6120.
I'm guessing a price match is still valid even if the price you matched goes up? I got JL to match this at £349 but haven't bought yet in case there was a sudden drop after xmas/new year. Price has now gone up where I matched it but I assume the price on email is still OK for 28 days. Could anyone confirm? thanks.

PRC direct before Christmas had it for £349. Gone up 20 quid last I checked. Hence my price match question. I assume they have to honour it for the 28 days from the email.
Just ordered via WWW.AO.COM they price matched it for me and asked if they could beat it against John Lewis guarantee they agreed a further £20 discount so total price £329.00 delivery on Sunday.

I will also do a manual cashback claim via Quidco for further discount.
