I wouldn't touch this years Samsung's as the quality is crap. I had to return two 6400's on the trot for ridiculous light bleed. This is just shots of one of the Tv's and the camera actually makes it look better than it is, it was a lot worse in person. 32818449-6srSi.jpg

Samsung TV support are rubbish as well. Richer Sounds referred me to them and they booked an engineer as they confirmed a fault. I waited in on the booked date and no-one arrived. Called them up and they denied ever booking an appointment and only when I challenged a manager, did they admit they cancelled it because "they shouldn't have admitted there was a fault as it is within tolerances". Tolerances my @rse.

Good if you can get it at this price (£389)
Wasn't that long ago 4k TVs were 2 grand lol

So glad I never jumped in.
Think this was £379 via PRC the other day.

JL have agreed to price match that for me, not sure if it’s still on offer at PRC.
got the 49" version of this tv on cyber monday, great TV in my opinion, have heard others having issues with edge light bleed but I must've got lucky, really good uniformity. Only downside is wall mounting is a bit of a pain, need 45mm m8 screws
This worth £39 more than the 6120?
Got the same TV months ago. Really happy with it.

This has the Freesat connectivity unlike the previous models - was looking at buying a separate box at one point. Most features remain the same as far as I can see in the specs.
I think the it has 100 more pqi.? Not sure what that means and also active crystal colour? Oh and a better remote. I may be wrong.

Is that the 49" or 55" model? Apparently those models have a IPS panel where as the 40" model has a VA panel. The IPS panels seem to have had a lot of issues with backlight bleed, while the VA panel seems to be less susceptible.

Depends. It has a better remote, slightly thinner bezel, freesat and supports WCG (Wide Colour Gamut). WCG might make HDR look a bit better, though it still suffers from an in-optimal back light for HDR.

That said, if you were looking at a 49" or 55" version, 6120 might be better to avoid this light bleed issue a lot of people have experienced. All models of the 6120 seem to have a VA panel, also apparently they have direct backlighting rather than edge.

It was the 49". I got fed up with the shoddy quality and service from Samsung, so returned the final TV and bought a Panasonic TX700b and couldn't be happier. No backlight bleed in a dark room (it's a bedroom TV) and the black levels are great for the price (this coming from a FALD TV owner).

Yeah, don't blame you. They have some really awful QC with those models, I've seen a few people say their panel is fine, but, I've seen others who have said that they'd tried 3 which all had the exact same issues.

You shouldn't have to go through that many replacements... Panel lottery to the extreme.

You won't be getting decent 10 bit 65 inchers for stupid money like this though.

They all seem to avoid having any kind post sale responsibility for poor quality and warranty issues, it's not just Samsung unfortunately

That's terrible. It looks a bit like one side of the frame as been crushed at some point.
Must say, from what I've seen recently I will agree that QC at Samsung and even LG has nose dived in the last couple of years, especially on their cheaper to mid range sets. They'll use that within tolerances touch to wriggle out of as much as they can but that said, if you do get an engineer visit chances are they'll say its a fault and replace the panel as they're usually independent and it means more work for them - not that I would even consider a repair on a TV with light bleed that bad out of the box.
Is this real 10bit?
JL agreed a price match for me yesterday on this - at £379!

Perfect

It says m8 45mm in manual which I am about to go and purchase, but the holes are two different depths on the back of the tv? Confused, any help appreciated.

I received mine yesterday. Unfortunately it has a kind of ripple effect with some shadowing at the bottom of the panel which is visible on lighter content so I might have to return it for a replacement.

Not bought from John Lewis before, so I'm not even sure how getting replacements work with them.
Bought this on Saturday for £368 - they price matched with Tesco Direct. Brent Cross store
