Will this get cheaper in the new year? No rush to buy new TV yet but been looking at this model in 43" and 55".

What does everyone think?

Thank you in advance.
Hard to say, black Friday brought no deal, neither did boxing day, but today it did. It will enevitabley go down, depends how long you're prepared to wait!

Thanks. Will continue to keep an eye out for this model in case it gets cheaper. If it was £300 I'd buy it straight away. Any chance that could happen soon once new 2020 TVs are released?

Ah, I see. Anyone know a good TV stand for this TV? Seen a few on Argos. My current TV stand I've measured and it seems like this TV would just about fit onto the current TV stand.
Never heard of smart spend? I have access to Lifeworks but no discount for JL.

This, you buy say £80 vouchers and get £100.. Use it quite often and its set up for Company employees.

Can I ask what you mean by ads? Do smart TVs have constant ads popping up on screen?
This for HDR10+ on Amazon Prime or a 43" Hisense B7500 for £300 which has dolby vision for Netflix? Hisense apps crash a bit more but this has reports or edge light bleed on some specimens. Help!? Thanks.

No, just sometimes there's an ad neatly tucked on the menu banner etc when you are in the menus.
I bought this from Argos for the same price. Richer sounds also has it at this price but only in store.

I have never seen any ad on my tv . I have Ru7470(curry’s version slightly higher picture rating 1900 ) This is 1800 rating, maybe i haven’t added a Samsung account for apps that could be a reason. Yes there are content suggestions.
4k Netflix is Amazing and the sound is much detailed for ‘ultra hd 4k 5.1 ‘ titles .
YouTube quality is impressive too , upscaling does show more details.
Does tend to struggle with dark content (that could be settings issue for me ) .
Light does bleed at high brightness.
Airplay works flawlessly .
Decent price ? Definitely
Many reviews on YouTube

Just noticed the difference since you mentioned the 7470. Are they both essentially the same or do they have key differences?

Also just remembered that I saw the 7470 in person at my local Curry's. Looked quite good, actually. But the 7470 is £419 at the moment on their website.

Only difference i found was pqi 2000-ru7470 and pqi 1900-ru7400,ru7420 .
Don’t think 100pqi would make much difference . Higher pqi level 2000+starts from series 8 tv whereas these are series7.
Oh and also ru7470 is around £400+since September , i paid £450 unfortunately as my old hd TV gave up on me.
I was being fussy and wanted the best picture in my budget

I didn’t get to compare both side by side , i checked 7400 reviews and assumed 7470 would be better .
Surprisingly sound is the worst thing about this tv in most reviews but it’s sufficient for me around 30-50% volume . Only bad points i would say whichi never found on the reviews are screen ghosting and light bleed. if you watch sports(footy usually) at high brightness most likely you would see score slightly appearing on screen after you change channel . On black background or black bars you can see back light at high brightness

Thank you for getting back. I do appreciate it. Will continue to keep an eye out then for both models to see if there are more deals.

Those bad points you mention. Are they major issues or just slight negatives with the TV? As in, do they impact general TV viewing to such an extent that it makes it less enjoyable to watch TV or is it something minor?

Should be ok as long as you don’t go full brightness. I just looked up online about light bleed and found significant details . Firstly ,you can get 2 versions of panel - VA (good) and IPS(not so good) .
7400 has 3 version 01 is VA and 02&03 are IPS .
I can check tomorrow what version i have . Also the more you read, more confused you would get tbh .
More details can be found and some screenshots too avforums.com/thr…66/

That's true re reading up more and getting confused.

I feel like that the more I look at TVs which is why I've just stuck with looking at Samsung TVs only although those Phillips ambilight TVs look good as well.

Interesting side note - I've noticed there appears to be fewer normal TVs (as in, non-smart TVs) and those that are available seem to be priced similar to smart TVs.
Very good buy this tv excellent choose off apps built in and a good picture in 4k and freeview !!! Bought one with the JL 5yr guarantee!!
Mine turned up this morning, will feedback when it's up and running.

Yes, would also appreciate it if you could provide us with an update once you've finished with the drinking lol.
Up and running now.. Pretty happy with it, but need to hunt around for setting etc.
If you're mounting this, you'll need 45mm M8 bolts. All mine were too short.
I think it's a VA panel!
Version Number: 01/ URU7400

Thanks for this. By the way, what is the difference between all these TV screen types as I'm not sure what VA etc mean?
This thread and forum discuss it.
avforums.com/thr…e-4

With LCD LED tvs, most common types are:
VA LCD panel: good colour, contrast and blacks. Poorer viewing angles(blacks or colours wash out when looking from an angle)
IPS LCD panel: poor blacks, risk of clouding in screen, less contrast, very good viewing angles.

Results tonight have gone well contents looks great, test for tomorrow is watching the footy.

Will be interesting to see what the motion blur on sport is like on this set. Tennis is great for checking how good/bad motion blur is.
Got mine today. It's absolutely great. Couldn't recommend it enough! Good enough to compete with my KS8000!

It's really bad in standard setting, too processed. Go to picture settings, expert and turn down Motion Plus I think it is to about 1..
