Don't be jealous, your TV is far superior to this! I "upgraded" from my C750 to this and was appalled by the decrease in picture quality. Clouding, banding, light bleed. Unfortunately these LED televisions certainly look the part when they're switched off, but not so good when they're switched on, especially in evening/nightime lighting when their flaws become all the more apparent.

I replaced it (thanks to John Lewis' fantastic customer service) with a Panasonic GT50 (plasma) which blew it (and my old C750) away, couldn't go back to LED/LCD now, just patiently waiting for OLED before I ever considering replacing the GT50.

Oh thanks, it always peez me off when i see the prices of 3D TV's, when i bought my C750 in 2010 for £850 2 years later and the T.V's have come down alot in price and seem so much better. It kinda reminds me of when people say don't be the first to buy into new tech wait a couple months/years. But it makes me feel better that it isn't that great. Yeah I'm saving my money for when the next generation of T.V's come out. Do all 3D have the same tech essentially from Samsung, Sony, Panasonic?

hasj2 I bought LE46C750 above year ago for £650 and was very good price. I replacing tv every 2-3 years, but this tv looking perfect, my friend few days ago bought LE46ES8000 and is very happy.

That's because its plasma and not LED, LED is in a complete different league to plasma.

This is the exact same price that this TV has been on sale for at PCWorld'/Curry's for a while until their sale ended yesterday.

I thought about buying the 8000 version of this but then decided against it when i saw how immature the 'smart' features were. I decided to wait a while for the tech to mature, as it's mostly software and UI nonsense that they need to get right.

Agreed - side light LCDs have serious flaws. That's ok on the cheap end - but not so much on the expensive end. Remember: you can get the same size (and very similar picture quality) for a third of the price. I would never pay this much over the odds for some stupid features.

Plasma is much better, but then again they use a lot more electricity.

Correct - LED or LCD as it actually is = League One and Plasma = Champions League!

lol plasma is better than LCD rar hence my point

These warranties don't even matter. With your rights under the sales of goods act they are covered for 5 years. Good to have on paper but not totally an issue.

a completely different league for the ill informed

I have this TV and just a word of warning guys:- The display is very, very shiny and reflective in my opinion. I have some wall lights and never considered the reflectivity of the display. All I can see when I watch TV is the wall light behind the settee where I am sat. Fine for movies as I switch it off, but everyday TV is runied by it. Don't think this would be the case on a Plasma set.

Actually its 6 years, and that s if you can be bothered to take them to court and prove it was an inherent fault ( do you know anybody who s done this ) because if you lose the court costs maybe a pretty penny. If it does go your way in court and lets say you ve had the TV for four years, you will be deemed to have had benefit so you ll be lucky to get 50 % of the replacement cost.......Still want to go down this route? ..... The sale of goods act does nt come close to a 5 year warranty.
