I saw this for £579 in Tesco's and decided to have a look online. This smashes all of the other prices out there so far.
Only 12 month warranty, no 3D but I think it looks like a pretty decent TV. Unfortunately I can't find too many reviews but those I have said it's pretty good. The screen looked good in Tesco's for sure.

It just hit me - no freeview HD listed on EE, but the Tesco site mentions it:
tesco.com/dir…prd

I have the 39 version and it has free view hd. Just a note that the tv does not do series recording when a hard drive is plugged in. You have to set each recording separately.

How does this TV compare to the LG 42LN575V in terms of picture/sound quality... Apart from the obvious screen size difference?

LG has a better picture, Samsung panels aren't what they used to be, especially LED/LCD. A lot of complaints with banding or shadowing on the picture and motion blur/judder on some shots (this is with a virgin/sky/satellite input) Whereas the newer LG sets have a great picture. I would say that the Samsung smart hub is better than the LG equivalent though, so I guess it depends what you're looking for.

I've heard that the LG LA models have DSE, but no idea about the LN models. This picture honestly looked great in Tescos. Very vibrant as you would expect from Samsung. I didn't see much DSE but there was potential, and I wasn't hanging around long enough to see how it performed with blacks. Also worth considering that it was surrounded by low brightness plasmas so that may have aided in my appreciation of the screen.

I've got this TV. Picture is good, and the sound is surprisingly good for a flat screen, much better than both the Panasonic and LG we have. The smart stuff if you use it is well designed and fast (unlike the Panasonic)

The only criticism I have is that its impossible to get sound into the TV if using DVI.

DVI (digital video interface) doesn't carry sound. It's nothing to do with the TV manufacturer.

DVI doesn't carry sound but the associated phono cables and TV phono sockets do, however everything I tried along with the experiences of others when I googled all failed to produce anything but occasional crackling.

Other than this one flaw I like everything about the TV

Your DVI is coming from a PC right? The headphone jack at the back doesn't work?
