Will never vote a Samsung TV hot again. Garbage quality, no support from Samsung. Thank goodness for the John Lewis 5 year warranty otherwise I'd be stuffed.

This is where I get confused, it's amazing how different peoples experiences are with companies as I bought a Samsung TV and within a month I had horizontal lines all in the top right corner. I contacted Samsung and they said it sounded like the screen needed replacing so they sent an engineer down to look at it the next day offering a temporary replacement TV, which I said wasn't needed. The engineer came out had one look and said that it needed replacing, ordered the screen and was replaced 3 days later in my home by the same engineer and another guy. Took them about 20 minutes.. Best service I've experienced, no surprise that I now only have samsung TVs in my house

I have an LG 50" Plasma TV and would never buy another LG TV in my life. Within a year and a half the TV is playing up. So be warned about LG cos their customer service is shocking to say the least. Many others have also found LG's build quality to be rubbish, I have read all about it on the net and should have checked before I bought the TV!

My story, I had a fault in first year fixed just as well,then just after warranty run out another major fault and then very poor customer experience didn't want to know.Helpful lady at first but her manager refused to speak to me and never replied to letters or email since.

You should push this with the retailer. I had a tv fail on month 14 of ownership. A 43 inch plasmas costing a £1000 told them the sale of goods act and that 14 months is not a reasonable period of time and therefore tv was not got for purpose. They ended up fixing it for free (the bill would have been circa £500). I never by extended warrantee as I would argue any tv should last a good couple of years.

This would be great, only problem is the retailer(Bestbuy) isn't trading here anymore! I have already been down this route and also been to LG who need an engineers report to be able to do anything. The problem is very hard to diagnose cos the TV switches off randomly and could take hours to determine what the fault is!


Best customer service I've had was with Samsung via Amazon....just replaced and upgrade the item after 10mths use
Could not fault them

Went back up to £799 after about 3 days
