good price
hot from me!
That's cheap for a 48inch tv. Will it mean the picture quality is reflected in the price?
Does anyone know the response time for gaming on this TV ? Thanks in advance
2 HDMI slots possibly isn't enough these days?
thanks ordered for my bedroom

Just buy an hdmi switch off amazon for less than a tenner and you're sorted.

Great price for a Sammy tv!

Irrespective of the Samsung logo, and their stupid pqi rating, for most users this will be a great tv. Turn off all the picture enhancers and turn the sharpness down to the maximum amount before it becomes noticeable and you'll have yourself a quality tv for £250!
Apparently no headphone socket! Shame as was going to bite but need one for my soundbar.
Any good for watching football. Motion blur/ghosting is my concern

Are you sure about that? I would be amazed if that's the case.

My LG doesn't have a headphone socket. Does my head in since I have a set of PC 2.1 seakers I could be using them with.

Most sammys have the head phone socket mounted on the side panel, but you are correct description states no socket, craxy in the sound bar mad world we live in. But, these do have very good sound for in built.

Be careful that the 100hz is correct as samsung use a measure that they call pqi, got caught recently with tesco stating 200 hz on a 32 inch samsung, it was actually 200 pqi which is nothing to do with the frequency of the picture.

When you think about it, you're best getting a smart/Android box to plug into a TV with a decent panel. at least that way you can swap out the 'smarts' when they're not so smart in a year or two (TV manufacturers aren't that great at updating their software).

Just my two cents

I would normally agree as a smart box is much more likely to be kept up to date. However if a TV has only 2 HDMI sockets you can't really afford to "waste" one on a smart box.

They seem to have a very similar specification but, if the Tesco site is to be believed, there are a few small differences which can see if you use the "Compare" facility on the Tesco site. Not enough to justify the current price difference though.
I know that this isn't the best TV around but to be able to buy a 48" Samsung for less than £250 is just bonkers. I can't believe this isn't hotter.

Defo 100hz. I've got a modified version (rm48d) of this TV and its perfect for our needs. Great HD picture (when calibrated) and low response time for gaming.
Why is this not over 1000 degrees? Seems scorching to me. A lot of screen, from a reputable name and retailer for not a lot of dosh.

Seems to be that the H5000 has a headphone socket but only HDMI 1.4 while this has no heaphone socket and HDMI 2.

This thread on avforums seems to suggest the 100Hz is 'processing rate', not true refresh rate.

Ok, time to clear some things up. This doesn't have HDMI 2.0 - that's a load of twaddle. Secondly, I'm basing my assumption re. 100Hz on the fact that my TV (RM48D, which is based off this model) can handle 60Hz properly and doesn't mess with it. Poor logic, and it may be the case that it can't truly do 100Hz, but what would you possible want 100Hz for that 60 won't suffice for? It's all a load of marketing gubbins. Thirdly, if you're interested in it then just buy it. Don't expect it to beat a JS9500, but for what it is it's a great TV. Can't comment on the headphone socket as mine does have one (although no optical out), but then like I said, mine isn't identical to this one.
how would i connect my lg sound bar to this if it has no optical out or even a headphone socket?

I bought 3 of the following

for my shop digital menus. Contemplating returning them and buying this for overall £237 saving.
IMO a great deal. As others have said, don't need the smart features, just a decent panel with good sound. Can use a hub for extra HDMI if needed. Thanks OP. Have some heat. Ordered.
Great TV for bedroom imo I have amazon fire TV that I would connect and pretty sure you can record freeview using a USB. Very tempted.
