Samsung UE48H6400 48" LED Smart TV at Debenhams.

There's been lots of deals on here for this well reviewed TV and I have been trying to decide between this and the 6700 model.

Was looking at this model in Currys for £529, but some searching has turned up this deal at Debenhams Plus.

As always, it's perhaps worth asking John Lewis to see if they will price match to get the 5 year warranty.

Some spec below ;

The problem is I've not found a great deal on the 6700 yet and the price of the 6700 is really close to the UE55H6400...

The 6700 is more than twice as much as this isn't it?

Edit.......sorry I was getting mixed up with the 7500

Someone said in another 6400 post that the panel is the same in the 6400 and 6700, 6700 has additional tuner and a few other tweaks.

Also 3% quidco, so potentially £499-3% = £484, Just wish this had the 5yr warranty.

Same Panel in 6400 and 6700, the difference is the twin tuner and some cosmetics

Think JL would price match?

JL do not have the 6400 48 inch model in stock. I've been waiting over a week but no joy.

Cheapest it's ever been, pity it doesn't get more heat, but hopefully it helps someone.

I'm interested to know this too. Already bought this from JL a few weeks ago (Not delivered yet). Does Debenhams Plus qualify as having a "Physical shop"? I think the answer might be no.

Afraid not ............

"In order to apply a price reduction on a purchase, the criteria in our pricing policy must be met. I regret that after review the request you have submitted does not match all or parts of this policy.

Unfortunately Debenhams Plus is an online only competitor. The company is operated by a 3rd party and the website is ran independently to the Debenhams stores.

In order to match a price request, the competitor must trade on the same basis as us, for example we will not match online only retailers, mail order only or show-rooms attached to internet-only orders.

Therefore, on this occasion I regret that I cannot match the price offered by Debenhams Plus. If you would like to view more information about Never Knowingly Undersold and o
ur pricing you can do so on our website."

hmm interesting that they didn't mention that the product is OOS. i thought that would be a pre-requisite

If I can get richer sounds to price match this i will be very happy!

Is tht the same which is sold in JL for 529 coz the motin rate is 400hz and this one is 200hz???

Yeah I noticed that the motion rate is different quoted here should be 400. Also the 6700 has a higher refresh rate also. Richer sounds should price match

5% quidco aswell so potentially £450! Must resist!

£25 for standard delivery with BHS...

Here's reviews on the two to compare performance. Seems the 6700 handles things better. Style wise the stand is much nicer on the 6700 in my opinion & the 6400 bezel has a cheap looking clear plastic trim, but the 6700 is quite a bit more expensive. Another thing is the 6400 has a swivel stand but the 6700 is fixed.

Just wondered if you did get your TV delivered?? I am still waiting for mine after a week.

No! Just totally screwed up my order. So much for being the best. Took 5 phone calls to get to the bottom of it. The courier never got my order apparently. Then when I finally raised the red flag, they were out of stock and now they can't reprocess. Even thought they never owned up to giving my TV away. Their only suggestion was to cancel the order and place a new order. Even though I physically couldn't as it was out of stock.

Just in the door from richer sounds with my 6400. They price matched JL and got the 5 to guarantee.

A big two fingers to JL and a big thumbs up to Richer Sounds. They did in 5 mins what JL couldn't do in 12 days.

Thanks fd77
I am in exactly the same boat as you. They gave the same reason and asked me to cancel and reorder but of course they were out of stock at that time. I still haven't cancelled. Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise as I am using the time to find out what exactly I need. Have come to the conclusion that perhaps I don't need 3D ( I haven't got 3D player or blue ray or whatever) and we don't use TV for gaming etc. Thinking that I should settle for a simpler model. Will visit Richer sounds this week and see if they can advise me. Thanks for coming back to let me know.

I did the same. Retained that order at that price to buy myself time. Ended up I didn't need to wait as RS did the price match so quickly.

No word of a lie. As soon as I switched this TV on, Shrek 2 was on and it honestly looked like it was 3d without any glasses.

Unreal quality.

Good luck in your search. So glad to have cut the ties with JL after the past few weeks.

I went into JL on Friday and there was at least a dozen tickets with the 6400. So I thought I may as well buy it in store as I knew it was out of stock online.
Upshot, out of stock in store. No answer when I queried that if you are out of stock, you shouldn't really have the tickets out. Next order is due 18th Jan and currently there are 148 on the waiting list!

I've just been and looked at this tv in currys today and I wasen't really too impressed to be honest. The picture seemed to be blurred and too bright. The build quality and stand looked a bit flimsy as well. Though, I'm not sure what I was watching and whether it was broadcasting the best picture it is capable of.

It may just be myself - needing some time to adjust from watching a plasma for over 10 years. It's funny as I do still trust the great reviews this tv receives and I'm still interested in buying it. There doesn't seem to be another tv out there (going by the reviews) that can match it's performance at this price scale..which keeps me interested.

I was wondering if one of you guys who own this tv can advise me whether or not this tv can be strapped to a wall to prevent it tipping? In the shop today, I was unable to see very well around the back of the tv. I have a very curious 1 year old girl and this could be a deal breaker if I'm unable to secure it..

Also, do any of the tv savvy folk on here think this tv will drop to £500 or less (with a 5 year warranty included) in the near future? The cheapest I have seen it available today is £469, though only with a 1 year guarantee.

I have this tv, Im not so sure you could strap it to the wall I dont think so, There isnt much on the back of the TV, but ill have another look when I get home for you. The picture on this TV is really good took me alot of time getting it right for my settings. Ended up using some recommended settings off the net. Looks really good, you shouldnt take any notice of what the picture looks like on any TV in shop as they only get them out the box and plug them in. I payed just under £500 for it a few months ago and im really happy with it.

On people always going on about the warranty, has anyone had a TV break within 5 years? Ive had 3 TV in the last 10 Years and all are still working. Infact I dont know anyone who has a Branded TV that has broken.

Ok thanks for your reply Britneyfan.

I find it strange that there seems to be no option to strap it to a wall. I wonder whether there's a way to modify the casing around the back and add a bracket of which a strap can be fixed to..

As for the warranty, hmm I feel it would just be my luck if it did break and I didn't go for the extra cover. The strap thingy could end up ruining my plans anyways though haha.

plenty of kits on ebay try searching anti tip tv or tv safefy strap, these kits are universal and use the tv wall bracket fixing holes

Ah I never thought about using the existing wall mount fixings. Thanks for the heads up mate.

Don't hold your breath, I purchased mine on 27th December, and when I logged onto JL website it showed it as despatched on 30th, so I waited at home for a week watching out for a delivery van - nothing. After a week I called JL for an update and was told it hadn't even been despatched yet! They told me I'd get a call to arrange delivery in a few days, and a week later I had to call them again as the call didn't happen. I eventually received the TV today (3 weeks after ordering), but have sent off a complaint to JL re all the misinformation and shoddy customer service. Sent that email off 4 days ago and still awaiting a reply... so much for superior service!

Just on a few other comments: My 6400 is mounted on a wall and it looks great, you can buy cheaper but I bought this bracket and it's a superb job - amazon.co.uk/dp/…p_1

On the Bezel, lot of nonsense, put the TV on a white/cream wall, you won't even notice it

Only had it a day, but overall so far a fantastic TV

I bought this before Xmas from Tescos for 475, and came with free 5 year warranty, (any tv larger then 32inch will come with free 5 year warranty from Tescos up until 31st of jan )
Great tv!

Its still saying 200hz refresh rate. Have they got the models mixed up as the 6400 (which i own) should be 400hz. I know the 200hz lower model is this price

I have this TV and it's superb. Video calibration is a pain but well worth the effort if you take the time to do your research and get the setting correct. I will say of the 6700 that game lag has been reported. I use a ps4 with this and don't get any perceptible game lag.
My only criticism is that it isn't too forgiving with viewing angles. The picture quality quickly degrades if you move too far off centre.
This is my third series 6 samsung tv. Riches did have a series 8 in the catalogue before Xmas at £899 down from £2100 but I couldn't track it down anywhere.
