No J5500 is the smart version and is normally £409.

smart tvs are a load of junk. Get an Amazon fire stick or Chromecast. Much easier to use and likely to get more support from developers

I rarely use the smart features on my TV, Firebox or stick is a much more pleasant experience.

I have a 32 smart Samsung j5500 and use the smart features allot. Question is will Samsung keep releasing firmware when the embedded smart os system needs an update - don't think anybody knows the answer as yet.

Great price!

I bought this TV around 2 months back from John Lewis for £389 after doing a price match with Currys. Free 5 year warranty was good to have. But I haven't seen the price drop this low before.

This is not a smart TV, but I bought Chromecast through the 'wuaki tv' deal posted here earlier (£22). That works pretty well.

It is a good TV and I like it.

Agree smart tv are overrated . A lot don't have the full catch up TV range so better just adding what the other hukd members have suggested.
Just bought the 48 inch 6300 curved version for £368..Wouldnt let me post the deal on here though due to company not meeting correct requirements..

If my 55c8000 is anything to go by, no - YouTube was stopped last year and doesn't work anymore
I have a Samsung Smart TV from 2012 and everyday I swear at it. Bear in mind, when Samsung are doing updates to it's Samsung Hub, you are held captive from watching anything 'Smart'

Tempted with this just to have the increase in size whilst getting rid of the Smart TV bit.

Interesting. So I have maybe 2yrs left before the smart features could stop working.

Hopefully they will still support it - I was a bit disappointed that YouTube app was no longer supported especially when this tv was retailing upwards of 3k around 8 years ago or so.
Bit poor it only has 2 hdmi ports.
Has also been this price at tesco for a couple of weeks.

why? it's not like ios or android get infinite updates for every handset.

Well previous gen Samsung smart tvs didn't get a firmware update to 2015 version of Tizen os and from the sounds of it Samsung will be pushing 'smart hub' or 'smartthings' (home automation) tv platform in 2016 which probably means another gen of Samsung smart tv's will be left in the dust and not updated. You only have to look at Samsungs v.poor update cycle with android phones to see what will happen with it's smart TV's

I'm not expecting brand new features, but would be nice to still use those you have on the tv whilst the tv still works

I think the same. 40" Samsung 3D/Smart TV's are on the market at this price with 4 x HDMI port slots.

I am in the market for a TV and won't consider anything with less than 4 x HDMI slots.
