But what makes a £340 4k TV better than a £280 1080p TV? Ive had a 4k TV for a year, probably watched two ultra HD movies in that time. I wager most folk are in a similar boat. Nothing wrong with this deal
49" 1080p non-smart TV for under £300? Hot in 2016 maybe, certainly not 2018.

And there only 720p. 4k is only good if your silly enough to pay for netflix or something else, 4k is good for gamers if they are silly to pay for the xbox x, but i pretty happy with a full hd tv like this and moviehd app.

How are people silly for paying for Netflix? They have a great service, wide selection of movies and TV shows in comparison to their competitors (Amazon Video etc) and have a very user-friendly interface. It's a reliable service that can be used any time, any where and in top notch quality. You're silly for calling people who pay for Netflix silly without giving reason. And the Xbox One X? It's the best console available right now, try getting a PC with the same specs for the same price. Keep searching, tell me when you've found one, and no, in the year 2025 your response won't count.
No complaints here
Cant go wrong with a branded 49" FHD tv for this price.

You will get people paying this kind of money for Polaroid tv during BF/XMAS etc thinking its the bargain of the year

I agree about the current lack of 4K content. However, the Smart OS (Tizen), better and faster processing, and the ability to play more demanding video codecs (such as HEVC) are what makes Samsungs 4K sets a better bet for slightly more cash. I personally don't see the point in spending almost £300 for a TV based on old technology.

A 1080p non-smart TV is perfectly fine if all you want to do is watch Freeview though.
I future proofed about 5 years ago with an all singing and dancing 3D Samsung tv with the 3D glasses... they’re now gathering dust.. I just bought that hitachi 43 inch 4K Hd tv ( whatever that means!!) Argos deal posted on here recently for the daughters bedroom £260 quid, I wall mounted it, it looks great to me, she’s over the moon..

I bet Samsung have purposefully made this TV look aesthetically rubbish just to make people by 4K. The bezel will be 1cm wide when it only needs to be much slimmer and it will just be hollow plastic to purposefully make it look chunkier.
Thanks for posting. Heat

Does this have the smart hub for managing apps and Wi-Fi etc?
This or the amazon 4K Samsung for 339
Is 4K only relevant if watching a 4K movie

Nope
Must be like running your eye over a cheese grater, unless you have your back to the wall on the opposite side of the room to it all of the time. That's massive for an HD TV.

Ok , what ever you said. You dont know what movie hd is then? Or even under stand the big difference between a over priced xbox x and a brill priced s, any ways away to work to make my millions.

It really depends. There are many dramas and movies on Netflix in 4K. For me, being able to watch Blue Planet 2 in 4K on BBC iPlayer is worth it alone.

I see... Complaining about the price of a £450 console is definitely what someone with millions of pounds does.
Anything decent for 32" ?? This is too big for my room

Netflix isn't exactly expensive for what you get.. if people can afford an amazing 4K HDR TV they can afford a small subscription fee each month.

And consoles are literally incredibly good value for money if you game often enough. Just work out how many hours of entertainment you've gotten out of them for the cost.

Or use something like a Chromecast, which is what I do.

Let the external device process it, rather then the TV. A large number of Smart TVs don't get software updates. Which is why I prefer external hardware.
Even if you don’t use 4K all the time. You’re better of getting a 4K tv to be future proof. No point buying a 1080p now

If you buy a 4K TV of this size and not much more expensive chances are it won't support the right formats when more 4K content comes. Also due to the TV being rather small 4K won't be that noticeable, it will really be about HDR, but if you only spend a bit more HDR will probably be rubbish.

That's a difference of opinion. Xbox is very smooth, the UI has been made very efficient and it's better in almost every aspect. Yes PS4 has its pros but out of the month I spent on a Pro, Gran Turismo feels like Forza 3, the main menu, settings, PS menu looks empty and unorganised and I found the touch bar and motion thing a gimmick. They're similar but Xbox feels so much more optimised and polished on a whole, give it a try

I'm fairly sure sales mean everything. It clearly means that more people are willing to buy a product then another.

Isn't that like saying that everyone should buy a ford rather than a Ferrari? People may like different things, sales may be everything to the company selling it.
