I just don't have the space for the 55" one. I doubt I'd notice a huge amount of difference really and the reviews for the 49" are very good across the board.
Never going to purchase anything from rgbdirect. Ordered Samsung Q8C 55" qled tv. Website showed in stock. A day later they sent an email saying the tv is out of stock and it will take 1-2 weeks to get it in stock. Cancelled the order and will pay more to other retailers to get this tv.

Do you know WHY you want the 10bit? Most seem to say that you won't notice much difference between the 8 and 10bit and that the FRC further reduces this difference? I just wondered if there was an actual reason or if like me, you've been convinced that 10bit is essential??

I like the best specs and want the best TV for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. This is a good price but for about £180 more it’s a bigger screen and the 10bit panel. I get your points though
i bought a 55 inch sony from these on black friday plus i own the 55 inch of this its my xbox one x gaming tv its great for the price i bought that off very though also i think i seen the 55 inch for 699 this week on here i can recomend that

Not to bothered about lag as long as reasonable. If that was an issue for anyone a monitor would be better with very little lag

There was no "point" as such, I've just convinced myself that I NEED 10bit which means that the 49" is out, but that one would probably look more balanced in the room than the 55" as we have a large living room but its not square. I'll just have to do some measuring!!!

yes thats correct. also this is 60hz....55inch and above is 120hz. Much better panel on the 55inch or above
i play fps games mate and some models are terrible i researched this 55 inch model and at the time it was best bang for my buck plus watching the likes of blue planet 2 on it its awesome for the price plus i watch a lot of netflix 4k stuff on its good

Which screen are you referring to please?

Looking at the 55mu7000 for 699. Seems reasonable but you mention there's a better screen available for slightly more? Thanks

I am referring to the same one as you mention. What I mean is the 49MU7000 (Same range smaller screen) is 8 bit + FRC whereas the 55” and above is 10 bit. I thought the 55” was still around £800!!

I WANT that deal, saw it last night also, great price, bang for buck. Was voted hot at £849 I think, so £699 is killer.

I would say go for that. Nothing will come close to that deal unless you are willing to add a 1 in front of the 699

currys won't price match the mu700 55 inch will they ? i need a new tv cabinet along with installation and currys is the easiest option but the price for the mu7000 is 799 from currys with a 10-21 day wait don't mind about the wait its the 100 pound difference thats the problem.

According to this, none of the MU7000's (49", 55", 65") are true 10 bit:

displayspecifications.com/en/…a31

All are 8 bit and FRC.

49" is 60 Hz and 55" and 65" are 120 Hz.

If you want true 10 bit you have to step up to the Quantum range:

displayspecifications.com/en/…94c

The QE49Q7F is both true 10 bit and 120 Hz .

Yet AV forums say: The MU7000 uses a flat Ultra HD 4K 10-bit VA 100Hz panel

Does ANYONE know if this is true 10bit or not, I'm getting to the point where I'm just going to stick with the old Sony set I have, it's not 4K, has no HDR and probably doesn't have any bits, but it's not worried me one bit in over 6yrs of owning it!!!

I feel someone at this site was lazy and assumed it was 8bit + FRC like the 49 incher. Multiple reputable sources state the 55+ model as true 10 bit, the reps at richer sounds confirmed this on the phone when I asked.

Thanks for that, I honestly don't know if I need 10bit, but now its in my head, I'm damn well having it!!
Do not use RGB Direct. I received a tv for xmas which (unknown to us) was damaged. The tv was wrapped and unopened for 4 weeks. The guy point blank refuses to have anything to do with it as it wasn’t reported within 2 days. PLEASE AVOID.

Does it justify the higher price tag?

I think so... I already have an oled for lounge and love the 10 bit colour. Its a bit more the KS, but I want to get the purchase right
