I'm just a little worried as this is little dated and for the same price you can get a Philips one with audio and video atoms ... so not sure if the quality of the Philips is better..Bit of the review that concern me is "Unfortunately, it can't get bright enough for HDR to stand out the way it should, and can't display a wide color gamut."

Maybe you’ve got the same mate

Good
My m8s got one of the older models of Samsung curved TVs and honestly it's bloody amazing. Great viewing angle wherever you're sat and it amazes me everytime it's in the menu how the icons seem to curve around the TV. Also it's around 50" same as my Sony but it just seems so much bigger even in his larger living room. Not sure whether to take a punt or wait until they come down in richer sounds with the guarantee... Whats the reason behind all of the other brands not making them anymore?

Unfortunately, it can't get bright enough for HDR to stand out the way it should, and can't display a wide color gamut." Only expensive versions can do this, pretty much need a q8 or above for amazing hdr everything under is just ok (Samsung)

That's the type of screen it is , there are 2 main types of screen and with samsung it's a bit of a lottery which you get. VA screens have better colour and image but massively reduced viewing angles . The other main one is IPS which is the one you want to buy if it will be viewed from multiple angles but dont expect the colours to be quite as good
really curved TVs???? What is this 2012? Next you'll be trying to sell me a 3D TV!

Mostly true, samsung this year models majorly fixed this with the Qled range and is amazing watching at angles etc, use to be the case though and still is at cheaper models
