I just bought this tv and it's excellent, spent ages comparing 50 inch tvs and decided to get this one. Great picture, awesome smart hub, wifi built in,3d not the best I've seen but didn't buy it for that.very thin bezel so barely any bigger on the wall than the 40" it replaced

what do O2 customers have to do to get the discount? Many thanks

Many thanks and good price. Choosing a TV appears to be tougher than buying a house!

Are these TVs good?

Decent tv

I'm guessing you will need to buy a pack of batteries in store to take it to the £750 mark

Using the old-school high-speed camera/ digital stopwatch method, input lag was measured to be 40ms which, while passable, is not as responsive as some ultra-fast plasmas and LED LCDs that can go as low as 16ms. Whether or not your gaming performance will be affected by this amount of input lag depends on the reflexes demanded by the particular genre (e.g. first-person shooter and arcade games), not to mention your individual sensitivity.

So it would be interesting if this lag would effect your gaming? The sony has the lowest input lag of any tv out there at the minute!

Gutted to have not see the O2 discount as we bought a £799 set on Boxing Day!!!! Considered this model, went for a sony instead and regret it already lol

good shout for the O2 offer! cheers.

I'm looking at the 46" F6670 which is £749 at currys. slightly better spec: 600Hz etc

I was in Currys yesterday as I knew I could use the O2 £50 discount - I was looking at 50" 6670 at £929 but wasn't really blown away by the screen quality - been looking a lot recently and originally picked out 46" 6740 at JL as impressed by picture quality - was £899 but now £799 - but that £50 O2 discount would be great to use.

Currys have the worst customer service I wouldn't recommend buying a TV from them, if possible but at JL

Has it got freesat on this or am I assuming all Samsung's do?

I'm afraid not, you would need the 6500 or higher model.:(

"DEAL TAGS:
Samsung, 3d, LED, Topcashback, O2, O2, Curries"

Curries :L

the Sony at jl is the better TV, look up trusted reviews

What's the input lag?

ive posted it above pal

I can get the 46" 6800 with the Co-op down to £703. Similar price and slightly smaller screen but higher spec. Or again the Sony in JL?

i'd pay extra and buy from someone else, currys are terrible!

Haha! I read it as "£750 TCB"

Thought we were getting a free telly :-(

Does the 3D suffer from crosstalk mate? I'm in the market for a 55" been looking at Sony w8 and w9 series because of the low input lag, and there 3D is ment to be almost crosstalk free

First impressions of this tv are pretty good. need to play around with the settings to maximise the pq, gaming is good - tried fifa, no motion issues, 3d isn't that bad. all in all for £700 a great tv!!

Fair play to Currys, called customer services cause the the sony we'd bought didn't offer 4OD and ITV player as the sales guy assured us, not hassle no fuss they have us a full refund after using the set for 2 days!! Bought this samsung with the £50 discount so much much happier!! Love this site :-)

I have a decent sized living room but wouldn't a 50" set dominate it a bit too much?

whats your viewing distance? 50 is a good all round size - i certainly wouldnt consider less anymore

hmm no crazy input lag then? i read on AV that the 50 inch sony has motion issues with fifa/footy so if the lag doesnt effect you to much this could well be the tv for me over the 50w653

I steered away from that model and a few other Sony ones based on people knocking them due to motion/lag issues. I'm pleased with this one, I've played half a dozen matches now on fifa and if I'm being very picky I've noticed the slightest bit of what I consider processing lag on goal kicks and corners but no where near enough to concern me and certainly not enough to affect the gameplay. Bear in mind I've yet to play with the tv's settings either. No issues with IR/clouding/banding/pops or anything like that. My recommendation would be to get it if your budget is similar to mine!

I bought one of these today and used the O2 code to get it for 700. At that price, if you are in the market for a mid-range tele then this is a great option.

A few of the comments have been about games and input lag. I hooked it upto an Xbox One and played some assassins creed 4, FIFA, Forza and COD and noticed no issues with lag. When I put it on gaming mode, it made the screen brighter and slightly lowered the image quality, but I could not tell a great deal of difference. FIFA was a TINY bit smoother in gaming mode when shooting from range and the balls going at 100mph, but really is not noticeable. I would say it depends what you are used to - if you are used to a 4 grand top end screen then you wont like this, but chances are you are used to a screen thats showing its age and this will make a HUGE upgrade and your games will look great.

Outside of gaming, the general performance so far seems good, picture is crisp. The pre-sets are a bit crap so I will be spending tomorrow getting it just right for me, the smart features are excellent and I was amazed to see stuff like DNLA and mobile phone as a remote support working straight out of the box.

Is this the best tele on the market - no, not by a long shot. It is the best tele on the market at 700 quid - probably.

Again the sony at RS has some great prof reviews with lowest input lag around
