Stonkingly good price for this TV HDCP 2.2 HDMI 2.0 and HDR update to come. I believe it has VP9 for Youtube 4K (although the Currys' website doesn't say) HEVC for Netflix and Amazon 4K

Do they give anything for tv in part exchange on this lovely model ?

No doesn't look like it, but I think it's a pretty decent price. I'm rather excited to be picking one up!

Where's the info on this TV being updated? The specs listed on Currys don't even mention HDMI 2.0.

Def has 4 2.0 HDMI's but I can't see anywhere that mentions any updates to HDR, in fact I found the total opposite in this review

Thanks for the link. I agree not particarly favourable review but price seems good. On another point, I have noticed recently that the Sony android system has come under strong criticism here lately, but when I do find any review like above- Samsung, LG, e.t.c. all seem to suffer to to some degree with their operating systems.

Also, that review is for the 6400 not 6800. Are they different?

Think it's the same set bar a slightly different screen - difficult to find reviews on these, one has to ask why...

All TV's have some issue or other tho after my last 2 experiences with Samsung repair policies I will not be buying another of their products again.

Btw I have a LG 49UB850v and have been delighted with it, the replacement UF model is the same price of this and given the choice I'd grab the LG everytime especially with the support they gave the UB in improving the picture and constant App updates.

It's nothing like the same set! This is a step below the SUHD TV's the 6400 is the entry level 4K set.

And it doesn't include the same tech if you read about it, its pretty much the same as the 6400 spec wise!

It says for "supported devices" where does it say "all"?

I get you're trying to disprove me but at least play fair. The link clearly states all 2015 SUHD and UHD will be getting the OTA update and then the last paragraph states it's now available for supported displays. As this TV is a 2015 model it therefore follows it's getting the update.

Also this is so far away from the 6400 it's unreal but if it makes you feel better yes it's the same tech as in they are both electrical devices that display a picture but that's about it.

I think it's pretty new to the market. There is an owners thread on AVForums if it's any use.

Read the foreign reviews via Chrome so it translates, it isn't anything like the flagship models!

And also point me to the part where it says all 2015 models, its just implying that only supported 2015 models are getting it.

Original Poster

I've read the Polish review cheers I've not said it's like the flagship models I've said it's a step below. Which it is and it's a step above the JU6400 which is the entry model the JU6800 is a mid range model.

As you seem to be struggling reading the link I posted I've included some others below.

Yes very different. I have no idea why the review for the 6400 was posted here. It's a completely different TV. The 6800 is a fantastic TV. You won't get better unless you're spending £2500+.

Hang on, You've been quick to ask for proof from me which I provided. Where are all these reviews saying it has the same specs as the 6400?

Original Poster

The Polish review here benchmark.pl/tes…tml states it's a decent TV and similar to the Panasonic CX700c which is another good mid-range set. Neither of which are similar at all to the 6400.

Brookysm, resident troll or iot? You decide. Too much time watching Big Brother with tins of special brew eh fella?

It is - it has webOS 2.0 for a start which is probably the best Smart OS in the business!

lol you're a trier I'll give you that. I'm steering clear of LG this time though.

Brookysm, your posts paint the picture. More is best, bigger is best! Occasionally this is not the case. I don't want to take the pleasure from the elders in your village, but your other posts on the Vodafone Iphone 6S deal for £35 a month were way off too. If Vodafone are going down the pan I'm missing something more than you!

great!! cheers!!
