I still don't see how John Lewis gets away with charging higher prices and only price matching on request. Hardly 'never knowingly undersold'. Surely when they price match once, their price should drop automatically. MSE did a piece on this a while ago, but nothing's really changed.

I recently did this and bought the ms-650 sound bar to go with it for the £200 cashback offer. Great tv and amazing sound bar

It’s written on a scrap of paper on the passenger seat of a DeLorean that you’d need to get it.

For watching tv like sky an ultra hd films etc very good quality, but for playing games i wouldn't recommend this tv at all
No I'm afraid not, I managed to get John Lewis to price match the coop eBay deal, when eBay were doing the 20% off voucher code, I'm pretty sure that eBay will do that code again though.

Fair enough, I did a quick search on previous deals but it didn't come up at price. You got a bargain!

Very blurry when gaming didn't matter what setting i put it on, had bad ghosting as well, felt like the characters on screen were moving in slow motion, tested on ps4 and xbox one s, if need it as a tv i would highly recommended but for gaming id avoid

Can you name a better retailer?
i have this but there is seemingly no way to turn off the horrid pink screen that comes up when there is no signal to the tv e.g. when you connect a laptop and the laptop goes to sleep you get this bright pink screen saying no signal for 2 hours! the sleep function only has settings from 2hours upwards...any way to auto off after 1 min?

A quick tip, if you see a deal for this tv or any other tv that John Lewis stock, rather than put in a request for John Lewis to price match online, do what I did and just go straight to the store and speak to the manger of that department, that's how I got my price match.
Does the price match take into consideration that to get an equal 5 year warranty from Crampton, that you'd have to pay an additional £69? I though all aspects of the deal had to be the same for them to price match?

Might not be convenient for everyone to go in-store as need to factor in cost of petrol + parking. Even then you can't be sure that they would price match depending on their T&Cs.

I agree that John Lewis is getting away with their slogan.

That's because a lot of people don't bother going for the price match and end up paying the higher price. They will be loyal customers of John Lewis and are willing to pay more for their customer service (which is one of the best).

I disagree with the comment about gaming. I have this TV and use it with PS4 Pro. It's excellent in my opinion. I haven't noticed any of the blur issues he mentioned. The game mode noticeably improves input lag. 4K HDR content on Amazon prime/Netflix looks impressive too. I'd certainly recommend this as an entry level 4K TV.

Have you tried renaming the input to ‘PC’? Did that on mine and helped with blurring and I put lag...
Will wait until world cup. Hopefully better tv deals then and trade in

Same experience here, when used with my PS4 Pro it is a excellent TV. If you activate Game mode then game lag is also reduced to around 21ms

No. John Lewis price matched this for me without wanting another £69, however Richer Sounds wouldn't price match on this basis.

Similar experience but with the UE49MU6400. John Lewis matched Crampton and Moore at £479 without a quibble on the additional guarantee you would need to buy from C&M to get it to like for like. However, Richer Sounds wouldn’t budge.

I nearly bought one over the ue40mu6400 but the 49 inch model uses a different inferior panel to the 40 inch one, so I would avoid it, when I was doing my research seems like a lot of people had an issue with bad black level/backlight bleed

avforums.com/thr…17/

I went for the 6400 due to the Freesat tuner built in which the 6120 doesn't have but apparently the 50mu6120 has better quality according to the forum posts
