Loads more places with stock... not in your list.
that seems a great price, Hamilton Motherwell and all Glasgow stores showing out of stock for me
Reserved one but not convinced I want it, seems poor features wise in comparison to what i'm after. Limited to where I can buy it from though as I've got near on £300 of Bonus Bond vouchers & none of the other argos tv's seem to be a good price.
bit of an out there question, but does anyone happen to know if this outputs more than 2 channels through it's optical port?
Likewise, reserved one in Wembley but no reviews and limited feature set so thinking its perhaps worth spending a bit more
100Hz motion rate on 55inch screen, no wi-fi, 2 x HDMI - cheap for a reason

If it really is a 100Hz panel with no processing then that is very good, but more likely to be 50Hz panel with some processing. A sweeping statement of 100Hz = bad is silly because most Samsungs do have 100Hz panels with 200/400Hz processing etc.

"Motion rate 100Hz" ... not 100Hz panel
brought one last week great tv for the money
Decent price for a 55" set. its also much cheaper than the slightly lower specced J5100 which has/is 200 PQI and J5500 which has/is 300 PQI and comes with Smart features and better connectivity although the 6100 has/is 500 PQI but dumb.

Whats not to like if you're trying to avoid Smart Tv's with clunky operating systems?
It's just amazing that no reviews at all

So what panel does it have then?

The 'J' shows the year model on Samsung TV (and blueray etc). J being this current years model.
So you should be able to find specs and manual etc on Samsung's site.

samsung
Reserved one for collection.

Still in two minds.....but I really don't care for smart functionality as we use Chromecast (2) mostly and just cannot afford (nor warrant) the jump to 4k right now.

Sound not so much of a concern for day to day viewing as I have an Onkyo setup for movies, as long as it's ok.

Main concern is the quality of the picture. We currently have a 6/7 year old Samsung 40" and I can only assume that this HAS to be better quality than that? P'raps I am wrong assuming that.

Quite surprisingly, no manual there
Nationwide simply rewards 8% at Argos,, brings it down to £395

Where the other files are and there is the bit it says for more stuff goto support. Click on that and it takes you straight to them. Manuals are in the support section of the site it seems.

I have 37/40ish" TVs as I don't have a room for anything larger.
I don't watch movies either
But I fing my 2010 Panasonic's G10 and 2013ish Panasonic something better quality closer up than the Samsung H5500 (2015) models I have. Much better in SD. At distance the quality is not so noticeable between the sets.

But just go have a look at few sets in say Richer sounds if its the sort of thing that brothers you.

Has anyone tried HD gaming like XBO or PS4? interested in refresh rate/lag etc.
Does this TV have an EPG? (programme guide?), also does it have an Ethernet slot?

Of course it has the usual Samsung EPG.
From memory if it has the FreeviewHD logo it needs an Ethernet slot to provide the streaming channels and interactive Freeview features. It could have changed though.

Best bet is to go buy one, check it out. Either open in the shop to have a look or their no quibbles things if they still have that.

How in the hell did you get 3 likes for that comment?
Just picked one up for the spare room - very nice.

SD looks ok
HD looks as good as any top end TV.
Sound is decent
if anyone is still after one, there in stock at alnwick. I reserved one but have decided against the road trip.
