The picture will be amazing
These were £1300 3 months ago when I paid £999 for the lower range 6400 model.
Heat added.
I'd be interested to see how SKY HD and SD images appear on this tv.

I still love the natural picture of my 50 Inch Panasonic plasma.
What about quidco, etc?
Was looking at these but found info that the panel is different to both the 50 and 60 inch and that the display wasn't the nano display of course I could be talkin complete rubbish lol
Was going to post this but seeing as it went out of stock during my order last time, I thought I'd wait till it was confirmed. Great deal!

I replaced my VT series 50" Panasonic plasma with the lower 55JU64000 model, My hand was forced due to my Plasma dying.
I was expecting to be disappointed but was surprised to find the picture on the new samsung LCD is better across all sources and the picture actually has a nice natural quality to it.

Hot! Missed out on the other deal but now ordered. Thanks
This model is £90 cheaper than the lower spec 6400 model now...scorching hot.
gutted why wont my tele blow up i want this one even though my 50 inch plasma panasonic is sound this just sounds a nice tv and price
Ermmm... Still £150 over my budget for the 4K 55"....

Yeah I also saw this in some owners forums...
Trying to decide what to got for, ideally want 60" but some good looking 4k 55" deals

Philips 55PUT6400 - £629 @ Argos - Cheapest, Android, ok reviews, no extended warranty

Samsung 55JU6800 - £799 @ JL - Seems very good value, cant really find direct review, question over 55" screen compared to 50" and 60", 5 year warranty

LG 55UF850V - £850 @ Currys - Seems a good spec, good review, 5 year warranty

Fed up of looking at TVs...

Thanks for the reply.... I am suprised. I love the natural, non lairy image the plasma gives, but the bezel looks like it should be wrapped round a painting.

Nearly as good as OLED. Just sadly not as good.

Yes if you can look beyond the serious light bleed issues it has and are watching 1080p or 4K content. Put Freeview on it and it looks like a 240p YouTube video.
Picked up the LG 60UF770V from JL on Black Friday for £969 reduced from £1079.Currys had it for a day for £899.Tried to get JL to price match but no luck.Just had it delivered so will see what its like.

I bought this 3 months ago for £1000
Are there any professional reviews on this tv?

is it any good?
I purchased this for £1000 three months ago and its ok if you can tolerate the horrible light bleed in the corner on darker scenes. Also Netflix on the Samsungs Smarthub is seriously flawed and just doesn't work consistently. I have to view Netflix using the PS4 and admittedly the 4k picture is stunning. £799 is a fair price in my opinion but if you love your tech and tv then just be aware of the light bleed issue.

It's ok but i would'nt buy it if i'd noticed the light bleed problem instore. At £800 it's ok if you can put up with the light bleed and Netflix issue on the Smarthub.
I got the currys deal & collected my tv Sunday. I swapped for last years model which was 1080p. I was told by Currys this has a smart remote (acts like a mouse & is much easier to use) like my old tv, but be warned it don't. The picture quality isn't as good as I was hoping if I am honest & mine has to be returned due to serious clouding in the corners... I will be getting a replacement (as I sold my old one - bad move...) Don't get me wrong, it's a nice tv & the Netflix freebie is a bonus, but I just been a little disappointed compared to my 2014 55" Samsung.

Is the light bleed visible in daytime or just night. What's the picture like on a grey screen - do you see any dirty screen effect? I had the Sony 55x8509c which had very good uniformity on a black screen no bleed but on a grey screen it was awful. This caused dark scenes to take on a greenish tinge down both sides. In the end this and other issues sent it back.

Mine is like a green rainbow in 3 of the 4 corners on dark screens, I hoping the new one will be better or it will be returned & I will have to purchase something else.

It seems all the tv's have screen problems of one sort or another.I'm at a loss to know what to do. My non led 40" Sony looked better than the 55" if I Brought it closer. I don't think the 4K's upscale very good either.

Don't really notice a dirty screen effect but the light blead on grey or black or dark scenes is horrible.
I have the 50 in. and the 60 in. version and both of them are great! I'm really pleased with them both. I paid £799 for the 50 and the price went down to £699 3 days later. Currys refunded the £100 with a smile. If the 55 in had been on sale at £799 then I would have bought it like a shot. My advice would be to buy one online to try and then you have 14 days to return with no hassle if you have problems.
good set of reviews on here, first few pages are worrying, then things seem to get a lot better with the occasional comment about bleed which seems to go when the tv is replaced. Was going to go for it but think I will wait for it to come back in in Costco with their 90 returns just in case, don't really need it, our 10 year old one is still going strong well that will probably have put the end to that

I too have issues with Netflix on the Samsun smart hub. I regularly get error messages saying 'this title is unavailable at present' and I therefore have to reset the smart hub for it to work. Very annoying. Is that what happened to you?

I'd love a bigger telly but couldn't part with my G50 plasma panny either. Full HD just looks too good on it. I have seen some Samsungs produce great pictures too though in fairness.
Bought it cancelled my Currys order from monday.

I had a Sammy 51" plasma but have 3 screen replacements in 3 years Currys gave me a partial refund. I still have my Panny plasma from 7 years in the bedroom and it's not going anyway until that dies
I so want this! Was in JL yesterday looking at this exact TV...drooling . Haha
