Not if you don't require it. Or you sit too far from the screen to notice the difference. There's too many parts of UHD TV's more than just resolution now. HDR support. 10-bit or 8-bit. Dolby Vision. Brightness. Etc, etc. Maybe in a few years I'll agree with you. And after those few years, this will still be a decent set for somewhere else in the house.

It's here.

I'd rather have a good quality 1080p TV than a cheap 4K model, especially considering the lack of 4K material. Much better to buy this and keep it for 5 years while content catches up.

Really happy with my tv http://oi64.tinypic.com/wclh80.jpg

Great find and prices

Not sure if it's me but it looks like a phising website....web link looks dodgy!

UPDATE **Sorry guys, please ignore my comment, I took the plunge on a 55" and can confirm that it is 100% legit from Samsung.**

Tempted.... do I need to upgrade the 40"... decisions

scamadviser.com/is-…tml

On the basis of a 13% Trust rating i would advise people steer well clear of this. Sorry OP.

paypal payment was to Samsung Electronics (UK) Ltd so hopefully nothing dodgy but Paypal covered anyway. Will report back if i receive tv!

The 'by appointment to the queen' symbol at the bottom of their page suggests to me they're trying to much to appear genuine, it's also a shockingly poor quality copied symbol. Definitely suspect.

fake website

On what basis ?

if I was setting up a phishing site I'd think of something more enticing than a 4 year old TV.

Pretty good copy if it is fake.

its on the samsung outlet website, seems good to me

It's 100% not fake. This is the official Samsung site: shop.samsung.com/uk/…rs/

Click the link that says 'outlet'

I agree not fake, this outlet has been on here before and with no problems.

Agreed. It's legit website

I was actually looking for 49inch telly and this is very tempting option to be honest

are these refurbished?

same question . are these refurbished?

Too late now, ordered one LOL

Even if it is refurbished, really? for this price I really don't care. Can't find it anywhere under 420 pounds. I'll wait for an year or two for 4k to drop to the same price and upgrade

Thank you OP!!

But what if it's not 10-bit, it's not fully ready for the future. What about Dolby Vision? In a few years I'll agree with you.

In my personal experience 4K plays 1080p better as well. If you are not fussed about brand name , you can buy a 4K tv at this price

But you're still dipping your toe in the water prematurely. A cheap UHD TV will have crap upscaling, so 1080 will look worse on the display than native. And this isn't a bog standard TV either, it's mid-range.

Just ordered 55 inch.
Got Panasonic 2 days ago 49` for 350.. This will return back and Samsung stay

I did order 2 times from this website - all came without any problems next day.

Very well packed and next free day delivery. I was shocked!

Good deal OP! Heat.
Edited by: "aleem" 27th Apr

Can't see warranty info mentioned anywhere?

I do not get all the excitement, there is not even a simple 3d included and therefore it is very expensive, wait until you can afford a good quality 4k. Samsung 4k would usually give the best upscaling for the lower resolutions

Thanks OP, this has helped out a family member.

If only I could convince the wife....

Thanks Rev, good points well made.

Sam - what 4k telly would you recommend for the same price that would give the same or better quality on native sky and terrestrial hd for a 4 meter living room?

fake.

encore

fake.

Base on what grounds? As mentioned 2-3 months ago I have ordered on 2 occasions something different. Next day delivery arrived with not a single problem.

Have a look at Dell Outlet website - looks crap also... but does the job!

New

Tech Radars best TV's of 2017

9. Samsung K5600 Series

Samsung's best HD TVs for 2017 combine high-contrast, colourful pictures with aggressive prices and a crisp design

32-inch: Samsung UE32K5600 | 40-inch: Samsung UE40K5600 49-inch: Samsung UE49K5600 | 55-inch: Samsung UE55K5600

Strong HD picture qualityAttractive designGood valueNo HDR, 3D or 4K supportFairly basic audio
While all four models in the K5600 range are worthy HD contenders, we're particularly fond of the 32-inch and 40-inch models, since they bring a level of quality to the small-screen/second room TV markets that's rarely found these days. Their pictures, for instance, enjoy much more contrast, brightness and colour vibrancy than the vast majority of other small-screen TVs these days, and they also offer more smart features - including Netflix, Amazon and all the 'big four' UK catch up TV services - than you'd usually expect to find.

You can view content on your smartphones and tablets via integrated sreen mirroring, and there's even an optional extra SmartThings hub available that introduces features like the TV turning on as soon as you enter the room, and being able to adjust connected lights and speakers. Even the K5600 design is a cut above the flimsy plasticky finishes associated with most non-4K TVs now.

I can't see anywhere on the site that specifies whether it's a refurb or not. At least Dell make this clear. Do those, who have purchased here before, know whether theses are refurbs?

Been on the hunt for a good, reasonably priced 1080p TV for a while - just ordered. Cheers OP

Fab, just ordered thanks. Did spend some time debating about my PS2 and the lack of a scart socket but then living with a sub 2 Mbps down load speed will not bring any 4K content to this house soon!
