Looks good price any good
Yikes, no 4k
I'm not sure where a large 1080p TV fits into the market.
I can understand 43" and smaller having 1080p, as the viewing distance will make the 4k mostly irrelevant.
But anything over 49" surely should come as 4k now by default?

A majority of people still watch HD as a majority sky for example is HD. A 55" 4k TV at this price point will be inferior because of upscaling to its 4k native resolution.
I got a Samsung 50" smart 4k tv from John Lewis for £324 @ Xmas...

And? What is your point?
My point is there are better deals to be had on 4K TV’S as 1080p is old tech now, if people are prepared to shop around there are better deals to be had:D

Just because one screen is 4k and the other is 1080p does not mean that the 4k screen is a better deal. The 4k tv you have may have worse black levels, motion handling, colour range etc. Why do you think the resolution is the only aspect of a tvs quality? Most people won't notice any difference between 4k resolution and 1080p at this size. They will however notice how bad sd looks on a higher resolution display.
Lets face it, in normal operation you're NOT going to be able to see individual pixels on this. It is what it is, want a 4K Samsung?then add an extra £100 and buy one. Personally, I find there's not much difference between a good 1080p signal and 4K at around 6-7 feet viewing distance on screens of a smilar size.
Yes I sit 6 to 7 feet away just watch freeview hd channels so to me the picture would be fine ???
