Lots of deals on the curved version but this is the flat version which I wanted. Plus using Black Friday code BF30 brings the original £549 which in itself was cheap down to £519. No doubt some will say there are better TV's but a 55" Samsung for this money is pretty good I think, even if it is entry level.
See comments below as suggesting code VCB40 makes it even cheaper but I havent tried that. Also free delivery

For some extra Info, this has:

HDR
8bit
60Hz

It’s coming up £549

Using the code VCB40 will take the 55" down to £509, or the 50" down to £429

This the same model and size that was on here, sold by Game, on BF for £449 IIRC. Not having a whinge but just working through the prices in my own mind.

The 6120, which has made an interesting appearance in stores for this BF, appears to be a cut-down version of the 6100.

You would think that the 6120 would be an improved version but the 6100 appears to come with voice activation and the 6120 does not. Think the remote controller is not as nice either. These model numbers are, IMPO, deliberately confusing aren't they?

Will the coop members % discount work with this as well?

Are the cheaper Samsung panels good?

I talked to Samsung rep in Currys. The 6120 was indeed brought in specially for the sales. He told me the only difference being they dropped bluetooth connectivity in this TV which I do not need. Of course whether there is any other differences I do not know. The Game deal has gone but looks like they still have one on the curved. Cheaper panels get mixed reviews but if you do not need the best quality then this seems ok.

I rarely post deals. Only when I think they are good. Then i post this which I am pretty sure is the lowest price around for this TV and it goes cold - if there is a better deal then lets tell people about it - thats what the site is for

From what I can tell is that you'll get 1 year warranty as standard with option to pay for longer? On richer sounds the same 55" is at £569 but comes with 6 year warranty. Personally I'd be looking for longer warranty for longer life of tv over saving £50 or so now. Just my thoughts 😁.

It says it does but seeing as I was having issues with my membership code I cant be sure

I've just been in John Lewis and was amazed how bad all these Samsung 4k TV's are for viewing 1080p channels. The 43" right through to the 55", the quality of HD channels are the same as SD channels look on my 6 year old Toshiba HD TV. SD channels are unwatchable on 4k TV's imo. I seen an old woman buying a huge £2700 TV in there after standing comparing the 4k image it displayed with another, both were playing from a USB drive in the back. If you pick up the remote and turn on say ITV HD the picture is shockingly bad. Felt bad for her when I seen her purchasing it at the till shortly after. I advise anyone bothered about using there TV for occasionally actually watching TV to check them out in store first.

I bought the 50" from John Lewis for £449 yesterday. The extra £20 is worth it for the 5 year warranty but maybe John Lewis will price match the £429. Think I'll drop them an email to find out!
