thanks Paul, bit of a minefield this TV buying stuff...

@bodkelly I know! All comes down to budget and from what I have read the 6400 is the best value mid range for 2017.....I'm sure some of the people on here know way more than me on that point though

ive been researching and the whole MU range is Samsung yearly mid range, the 6100- 6120-6200 range is like the basic model still 4k and great just not good hdr and no fancy stuff, the 6400-6500 range is there mid range "mid" version and is like the complete package, im looking for one of those cheap, then the MU 7000 range has better HDR and brightness etc, then MU8000 range is again even better but then your going £1000+ but ye the MU is 2017 models so any MU 6000+ is a great TV all have like 85-9.5/10 reviews so cant go wrong, the MU6400 for the price between 450-900 depending, on size obviously is the best value for money without silly features and includes HDR good sound, obviously 4k... so ye.. theres my 2 cents as a tv researcher, it is really hard trying to find one and ive spent 3 days looking at loads haha. good luck

The 50 inch is quite a bit cheaper at 499 here... m.johnlewis.com/sam…476

5 year warranty too

thanks Comedychris - so this atually looks like a good option for teh money

Ye its not bad for 55 inch but it is the basic 6100 versions if you check very therebis the 49 inch and 55 inch 6400 better versions for 500-700 respectively but both have a button saying will be further resuced on friday. There is also pay later options might be worth waiting. 6400 is only slightly better but if you can get 55 i ch now at very for 700 something then with a further reduction it might be the same price its hard but ye... now ya know the basics

No, it's the MU62 that's curved, the MU61 is flat.

Ahhhh my mistake tanks for pointing out!

reading comments on other tv deals there are mention of 10 bit, is this 10 bit, if not are there any other TVS that are 10 bit for this sort of price or it's not noticable against 8 bit
