Thanks for sharing @madcal87 , hope you don't mind, I've changed the thread title a wee bit, just to make the price match aspect a little clearer (prob me being thick, I didn't quite grasp it at first (embarrassed))

Depends if you want the 7 series Samsung for an extra £250. The 4k player would just sit under my tv gathering dust for the next few years.

Depends on your interpretation of ‘cheap’ and your disposable income......

try this deal from CO-OP they will price match this as the discount code is on there website BXL60 £699 electrical.coop.co.uk/tv-…-s/

I got this TV 2 weeks ago for £692 from Argos, and I'm pleased with it. I'm by no means a tech expert with TVs but I did some basic research and it seemed to be the best for the budget. No it's not as good as an OLED but it's like half the price!

Been watching Stranger Things 2 on it the last few days and it does look pretty amazing to my eyes!

Ordered the slightly smaller 49MU6400 last week £629 price matched to £549 which I think is a decent price.

Decent price. Black friday coming up, so wonder if this would potentially go down further next month?

7070 is 10 bit as I got the tv just the other day from currys and I must say the picture is beautiful and the HDR looks fantastic on games

It’s same as mu7000 ain’t it

John Lewis denied me a price match as they don't believe PowerDirect are a comparable shop

This year's Q-series replaces the S-series for Samsung, the U models are the next ones down. The KS7000 is likely equivalent to the Q6F given how similar the KS8000 and Q7 are, although I haven't found a decent look at the Q6's capabilities yet.

Have you had the chance to watch HDR on a more capable TV? The MU7000 has fairly limited extra hardware for HDR.

Of course that doesn't mean it should look rubbish. Any HDR hardware adds to the quality of the best SDR picture the TV can produce (provided the tone mapping is good) so it's an improvement to an already good picture.

Thanks - yep I've emailed them again pointing to the contact us page where it lists their shops.
I've always said if I can get this TV for £700 with 5yrs warranty i'll buy it so here's hoping.

This TV was £699 at Richer Sounds and JL last month but they keep changing the prices.I bought 49 inch MU6400 for my friend which cost £589 last month. As its black friday coming so all retailers put the prices up. That is what happens every year

How does the 5 year guarantee work?

If the tv goes wrong do they collect, replace without any charge?

Its a manufacturing guarantee, so mainly electrical faults etc are covered. Normally try and fix it, and if they can't then they will just replace or refund to the full amount (whichever is cheaper for JL at the time).

According to the Samsung website (and several reviews), up to 49" is 8-bit, but 55" and above is 10-bit.

Does this definitely have both Freeview HD and Freesat HD tuners ?

pavel762 h, 44 m ago

It's not...https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/a41cb0c

If you look on Samsungs very own website or any reputable reviewers you'll clearly see it's 10bit for over 55" and over.

The 40 and 49 are 8bit

£689 at PowerDirect now!

After a little advice. Is this level of light bleed acceptable?

Have taken to Richer Sounds and they say it’s because I’m not watching in ‘normal conditions’ i.e. as I’m watching in a darkened room at night it doesn’t count?

It’s really distracting sometimes and I’m out of my 30 days to return but have a 6 year warranty.

Do I have a leg to stand on?
