Definitely. I think it's only useful with massive displays surrounding you. Not a 55" in the living room

You make it sound like a 55" TV is not massive.
Makes me think I've been trapped in a time warp since I last looked at new TVs 10 years ago.

Depends on how far it is to the seating position. And you quickly get used to it.

That's because 55'' is not massive these days.

What's wrong with curved?

Imagine the curve is part of a big circle. If you're sitting in the centre of the circle it will look fine. If you're sitting anywhere else it will be slightly distorted, e.g. If you're sitting right of centre the left side of the screen will look ok but the right side will be gradually more compressed. On a flat screen it will be evenly compressed across the screen. That's why flat screens were a big selling point back in the days of CRTs when the screens curved the other way.

Ah fair enough. I've always just gone for normal TV's, never looked into curved nor am I bothered about 3D. Thanks
