Samsung UE55MU7000 55 inch 4K Ultra HD HDR Smart TV - £749 @ Crampton & Moore + 5 year warranty

This is the cheapest I've seen it for a while.

I've not ordered from Crampton & Moore but it comes with 5 year warranty.

Could be worth a price match elsewhere if they would accept it.

I've bought a TV from them in the past. Good company.
I’m told this is best tv under £1000.

Very, very tempting. I've decided on this model now but don't really need it urgently. Can anyone see it getting much cheaper with a decent warranty?

When the next model comes out the older ones are usually cheaper, however you will then likely want the newer model.
whats a decent warranty? I’ve never bought from C&M but reviews are good
5 years is the standard for me for TVs. I think this is the cheapest I've seen this set with 5 years since I started actively looking for this particular model.

yes the mu8000 us a better tv but the mu7000 is a 10bit panel if its a 55inch screen or above. The 49inch is not 10bit and only 60hz though

“You are wrong”? He didn’t say he was right. He said someone else told him. Googling doesn’t always help. The mu7000 has had regular highly rated reviews recommending it.

Your advice of the mu8000 is good and helpful but came with unnecessary snark IMO.

Agreed. And besides, Loughboro.Guy is a legend around here. What he says goes, IMO.

No, this is the best TV under £750. The best TV for near-as-damn-it £1000 is the 65" version. I know OLEDs are all the rage but I still prefer LCD. It has all the technical wizardry everyone harps on about in every deal and with the right kit give you an amazing visual experience.
Great TV - recommended!

The 49" MU7000 is 10bit? It's HDR 1000

Anything above MU7000 is 10bit HDR. Im not sure if the 8000 or 9000 series the screens get bendy. It might just be you get better blacks - not that theyre bad on the 7000 series. Its just a few extra features used to justify the higher model number and price tag. The MU7000 is the baseline 'best telly' in the Samsung series. Anything above that its just extra icing.

Here's another review

I getcha. Was looking at the 49" for my new flat. Also seen there's the 7070 which is like a Curry's exclusive? All i can find is it has a different remote, you don't know if there are any other differences do you?

Its not unfortunately. its a false 10bit panel and different to the 55inch and above versions! disgraceful how Samsung tried to get away with it really. Its the refresh rate that id be more concerned about at 60hz.

The mu7000 has the same panel as the mu8000 both are 10bit in sizes above 49 inches, the only difference between the 7000 and 8000 is the stand they use and the level of local dimming software Samsung applies.
You can also add the HW-MS550 soundbar for £279 and claim £200 cashback. Making the whole package £828

My tipping point will be £700 for it with at least a 5 year guarantee...

According to reviews I have read regarding these two models, is that the only difference between them is the colour of the surround, and apparently the mu8000 has a better screen filter also a £200 dearer price tag. I have gone for the mu7000, being delivered tomorrow so can't comment on how good or bad it is yet, but after much research gleaned from industry reviewers, it sound like great value for the money.

When is the replacement for this model due out? I have my mind set on this model but won't be buying until around May.
I might get a bargain then, or they might sell out and the newer one will be more expensive..... hmmm...
Do john lewis not stock this tv for price match?

I don’t know that it’s better but if you buy it Curry’s will knock £100 off an Xbox One X at the same time!
The 7070 is not better apparently, it's only cosmetically different and pretty much the same. That's what I read on AV FORUMS.

Don't be fooled that the higher number is NOT always better.

Good price for this TV! Though. Head added!

With regards to the £725 tv, I mentioned the Ao.com 10% discount making the TV £720......the chap at RS said he wouldn’t beat it due to far inferior guarantee etc, but then said I can do £725 with standard delivery and 6 year G ordered!

Yeah I was gutted that this was a Currys exclusive.....have heard too many mixed reviews of their post-purchase customer care. Apparently the remote is just a metallic version of the 7000 remote (no extra functionality)
