Experience the incredible colour-rich realism of the 4K HDR picture with Samsung's MU8000. Stunningly clear 4K Ultra HD resolution combines with HDR 1000 to achieve staggering levels of detail, brightness and contrast. Samsung's Dynamic Crystal Colour tech injects all your content with beautifully lifelike colour, while Ultra Black achieves the same level of clarity in the darkest shades, in even the brightest viewing condition. Access a world of online entertainment via Samsung's Smart Hub, and control all compatible devices via one remote control. With elegant 360 design, this set will revolutionise your home entertainment.

HDR 1000 with Dynamic Crystal Colour
Samsung are one of the forerunners of colour-boosting High Dynamic Range (HDR). As members of the UHD Alliance, they've engineered HDR 1000, indicating up to 1000 nits of shimmering brightness, to give a glorious glow that will knock your socks off. Usually, studios are forced to dilute the colour of their shows and films to fit on our TVs. Now, HDR screens like the MU8000 can channel content from studio-to-living room with the same precision and utterly otherworldly hues. HDR 1000 achieves exceptional brightness, shadow detail and vibrant colour. It's heightened further by their Dynamic Crystal Colour technology. This tech delivers over a billion hues, 64 times more than conventional UHD. This makes shades sharper, the image deeper, and colours crystal-clear and lifelike. Plus the screen's Supreme UHD Dimming achieves more realistic shadow detail and contrast too. Being able to independently adjust tone, brightness and sharpness in a thousand tiny zones around the screen gives a staggeringly realistic picture quality.

4K UHD with upscaling
The MU8000's Certified Ultra HD 4K resolution screen takes you to the next level of viewing experience. Four times the number of pixels of 1080p Full HD delivers stunning realism, natural motion and incredible detail. Experience this high-spec picture on everything you watch thanks to 4K upscaling. Samsung's innovative upscaling technology converts lower resolution content to a level of detail near UHD. Upscaling is a process through which a lower resolution signal or data source is displayed at a higher resolution. The upscaling process interpolates additional pixels from the source data, and produces a clearer picture on your 4K screen than a non-upscaled image. Meanwhile the brand's Supreme Motion, combining stunning image-processing speeds, backlight technology and a super fast frame rate, ensures even the very fastest action is of the highest clarity and judder-free.

Ultra Black, Precision Black
Precision Black technology ensures there is just as much stunning detail in the dark, shadowy scenes. Stunning levels of contrast mean the deepest, dark blacks are equally delivered alongside such amazing levels of beautiful brightness. Ultra Black makes sure these deep shades can always be enjoyed, even in the brightest viewing conditions, through significantly reduced light reflection.

Samsung Smart Hub
Now faster, with ultra-high definition streaming, catch-up and games services, is the latest Smart Hub platform. This quick and easy platform marks a massive step forward for the connected home. Access the latest apps to experience the best UHD content from Netflix and Amazon*. You can even browse content easily, searching for your favourite programmes and movies while you are still watching TV. Powering the seamless interaction is the powerful Quad Core processor which significantly boosts performance with faster access to Smart features. Enjoy super-fast response times, as you use and toggle between apps, online services and live TV with ease. You can even use voice control by engaging S Voice on the remote.

One Remote
Get rid of the clutter of multiple controls. The Samsung One Remote can control all your compatible devices for seamless multi-tasking. So with compatible components you can switch channels on your set-top box, adjust the volume on the sound bar, or surf the web on the big screen, all via one controller.

360 Design and Clean Cable Solution
Minimalistic silver 360 Design looks stunning from any angle, with a clean back panel, for an eye-catching look that enhances any viewing setting. In keeping with the elegant aesthetic, connecting cables run down through legs of the stand, removing unsightly clutter from your living room and complementing a supremely refined look.

Whether you’re browsing for the latest Hollywood blockbuster or trying to find Ultra HD content, expand your viewing options through a wealth of additional Smart channels with Samsung TV Plus. Nope, 55 on the 7000 model is also full 10bit panel (admittedly, it is 8+ on smaller screen versions of that range)

Agreed. Seems to be a constant in all of the MU7000 55 variant threads that it has the uprated 10 bit VA panel.

whats the point in getting the 8 series over the 7 series then?
Personally, given the price point difference, I would not . However, as with all things consumer related, retailers and manufacturers would very much appreciate it if we all went out and purchased the new and shiny models at the higher price.
Once again UK 7000 55" above is 10 bit panel. Some people are reading USA spec for 7000. The UK 7000 is in fact the USA 8000. Causing lots of confusion when people Google
mu 7000 on the world wide Web.

Any thoughts on which is better for the money

I ended up with a mu7000 from RS for £669. This set (8000) is probably worth a little more for the stand alone.
The Qf6 is a QLED model but the lowest rung on that ladder and considered to not be much better than the 8000.

It does have legs rather than a stand so that might be a consideration for you. Otherwise I wouldn't pay much more for it over the 8000. If it was the same price or v close it is probablty worth it.
Got the 75 version of the 7000 which is true 10 bit from 55” upwards. I think the 8000 has a higher hz refresh rate. Maybe 200 whereas the 7000 is 120. I’ll check.
A top quality tv IMO. 4K and black detail excellent. Had this for just over a month and well impressed. No issues with 7000 on moving sports.

When does it start making a difference?
I recall people saying years ago that HD vs SD only makes a difference after you reach a certain size panel..found that to be completely wrong. I could always see the difference.

no. only the 49inch model is 8bit +frc. the 55inch and above is full 10bit
Excellent price!
Popped into the local Currys, was really tempted. The thought of spending £700 on a display model that has been on 10+ hours a day for a year....

....the 5 year warranty provided by Currys is manufacturers warranty too. The manager there was helpful enough to discourage me and said hold out for the 7070

Great price for the TV but I walked away from it knowing I can get a boxed 7000 from John Lewis for the same price

10bit has nothing to do with resolution just the amount of theoretical colours/shades you can display. I agree there is a big difference between SD and HD But in my opinion not much between Full Hd and 4k on a 50 inch screen! I doubt you could tell between 8 bit and 10.
Been offered this in my local currys for £599 - I've got to do it, right

I guess what you are saying is it’s the most subtle of differences..fair enough..I just need to confirm this and have a look for myself before being absolutely sure
