What's the difference between this and the NU8000?

This one has a PQI (Picture quality index) of 2600, the other one is 2500 and this one has supreme uhd dimming, and the other one uhd dimming, im not sure what the difference between those is, but with the cashback this one is only £20 more than the other one

According to this it's the same just different marketing to avoid price match

avforums.com/thr…90/
Same tv just a different colour to the bezel and stand
Great deal. 720 after cashback. Finally a deal worth shouting about on this lacklustre black friday.

Not really.
Yea the 8070 seems to be darker in colour than the 8000 (darker bezel and stand)
My friend just bought 55" samsung nu8000 from richer sounds for £689 thanks to a deal posted today on HUKD. They price matched RGB Direct and took £10 further off + they give 6 year warranty as well. Cant find the link to the deal but I'm sure someone will have it.
Pretty sure it's just the Stand type in the main and slightly newer. Works in the Retailer's favour for Price Matching! NU8000 has two individual feet, rather than a single long base type. Prefer the 8070 but not sure it's worth the extra! Interested to find out if they're any other differences..... Well the price hasn't dropped today has it really!
Spot on yep more Gunmetal type colour in the 8070? Who cares, just drop the price another £80 Retailers so I can enjoy!

Alright trappy.... what's your deal of the day?

Evening, Chuckles.

My DOTD would be this one, for the exact same telly as this deal but in a different colour and much cheaper...

hotukdeals.com/dea…465

Thanks for asking.
There is definitely a difference, not just marketing. 8070 is proper 10 bit whereas 8000 is not. In addition, because of this it ticks all boxes to be premium ultra HD.

Try telling old kit kat
better quality 10bit panel on this one, nu8000 crap 8bit+FRC
waiting for the price to go down on the curved one, the nu8500, also better panel and style
Oh yes awesome true 10bit according to spec sheet

Hardly crap for the money. Some excellent technical write-ups.... Panel depth isn't the full story as it's still a dithered 8 bit panel. You would struggle to tell the difference if it can display the full Gamut properly... Saying that I haven't got 20/20 vision! Oled on the other hand... Night and Day difference!
Wondering how it's £719 after cask back ?
799 - 20% vat is 640.

If quidco pays out wouldn't it be £735 ?

May stick with the 8000 at £689

My tv is 46 inch 5 year old Samsung.

It's going to be 3 metres from the seating. I'm really not sure it's going to make too much of a difference in my circumstances.

Last year nearly for the oled LG b7
Then I convinced myself the Samsung mu9000 which is 10bit.

Now I want something under my previous budget as holidays this year and next have eaten up my budget

Not in 55 inch size. Both same panel. 49 inch nu8000 is inferior
True 10bit, 2600 over 2500 PQI, and supreme dimming over standard dimming

I went in to Currys primarily to get the LG49SK8500 as I need slightly wide viewing angles but the 49nu8070 was beside it and the angles did not seem bad at all so I walked out with nothing but confusion as I know the blacks are a lot better on the nu8 series compared to the sk85 although it does have better features and originally marketed and reviewed against the high mid range market

After finding out the FALD is not great on the Sk85 I am so undecided now

Shouldn't you change this post to the real price of 720? It'd go through the roof then

Your in exactly the same situation as me I went in to curry’s tried to find out if the 49nu8070 was a 120hz panel as I know the 49nu8000 is 60hz, had to go on live chat to Samsung they confirmed to me the 49nu8070 is a 60hz set unfortunately
I want a 49” set but don’t want to settle for worse motion processing because of it...
the 2 tv seems for me are the same as yours deciding between always been with LG for years but the nu8000 is the better of the 2 for contrast And brightness it’s a confusing time!
My my mate hasn’t last years LG 49sj810v and the blacks are really bad very distracting the way it was lighting the screen it took you away from what was on the tv and put me off a little.

Since when has Quidco cashback been included in a deal price? Special pepper privilege? As always, cashback is *not* guaranteed.

It isn't £720.
After doing a bit more Deep research on this as there is little info on this model I have found the following
The Supreme Uhd Dimming that is on the 8070 and the 8500 have over 50% more dimming zones which in my eyes makes a massive difference.
"On one of the forums here, an AVS member thought (based on the prior JS models) that the UHD Dimming was 10-12 zones, and the Supreme UHD Dimming was 16-18 zones."

Also another feature that the 8070 shares with the 8500 is "Digital Clean View" instead of Contrast Enhancer on the 8000.. Possibly just a gimmick though
Also the UHD Engine is different compared to the nu8000

It is indeed, mentioned that up the convo. I only needed a 49" but I just made the purchase for the 55" on the basis of the 120hz panel and the "recommended size for best viewing distance" on rtings
The women will not be happy initially lol

What is the tracking speed of quidco like for Currys?
I signed up to quidco in 2014 but have never actually used it lol so no idea how it works really. I did go through quidco and the black Friday cashback link which said it was tracking but I have nothing on my account just yet
May return if I don't get the cash back
It says it is normal for this company to initially track at a lower amount and to contact us if this doesn't change.
July 2019?? Is this normal

36245758-V5M8j.jpg

I've ordered this but it's currently out of stock so up to 21 days until it's actually delivered . It's showing as tracking in Quidco but for the wrong amounts, purchase of £665.83 and cashback of £9.99, no idea where these amounts come from. According to Quidco this is normal for Currys to track the wrong amounts initially and it will get updated later. Fingers crossed
