I wish I knew this too. I desperately need a new TV to replace my fault old HD Samsung but I'm just not sure when to get one.

£479 in Currys and John Lewis.

I just had a look at it in Currys. Looked nice enough. Very big. Qujte high as well as the legs lift it up high. Going to need a wide stand or table for it.

It looked good but did not wow me I have to say. But it was next to far more expensive TV's. I also couldn't get a good long look as a memeber of staff kept coming and looking at the specs for some reason.

I suspect, for this deal.price, it is very good. On the Currys site one reciewer says the sound is low. Another says that Apple TV is intermittent.

Is this any good for some occasional PC gaming? Any recommendations?

Are they based in the UK? Or is there shipping fees?
Does this include native apple play - I.e. Apple screen mirroring?

Damn... I paid £420 for a 49inch LG from JL 2 years ago..
Hate the 2 stands at either side, just screams cheap to me, even though this TV is actually pretty decent the stand completely puts me off

Display Specifications is great if you're looking to compare spec sheets. Hover over the model then click the arrow icon to add one to the list.

The difference between a 7100 and 7400 for example are changes to the stand design (feet / pedestal), minor improvements in brightness and colour accuracy, additional features such as DVB-S2 (Freesat).

When you reach models in the 8000 series you'll start seeing more dramatic changes in panel quality, e.g. 120Hz for improved motion handling and 3:2 pull down (useful if you regularly watch 24p content).

The input lag is acceptable for a TV though the average response time looks a little high (potential motion trailing). I suspect it will be okay for console and occasional PC gaming when all the artificial motion features are disabled. Does your GPU support HDMI 2.0? That will at least allow you to use native 2160p @ 60Hz whilst on the desktop.

When I looked at the 43inch in John Lewis I thought the picture wasn’t great but am guessing that is due to the feed they use for BBC on all the teles. Pretty sure it was in SD and not HD. All the £1000+ ones had their own video playing wish am shows the real quality, rather than BBC news in SD.
