Got 65"
Wouldn't buy a Smasung again. Bought a 4K one in 2016 and now the panel is going in it. Seems to be a common issue from them in 2016 but they wont do anything about it.

If you have proof that other panels have suffered the same fault, just take them to small claims court.
Noticed a couple of tv listings are mentioning the Apple TV app now? Is that a big selling point?

If you need it, I suppose it is.

It's big for Samsung, as they are the only TV manufacturer with access to the app at the moment.

It's been added to most of last year's Samsung TV's too.
anybody got this?

Fair enough

I’ve used their boxes for years and love them. Curious as to what the draw would be to someone not in the “Apple ecosystem“

I’d always prefer separate hardware tbh, I wouldn’t buy a TV for the apps as we all know how quickly the manufacturers stop supporting them

My high end 2018 Sony won’t be getting the Apple app for example, though the 2019 ones will

Bought a ES7000 2012 and it's still going strong and the picture still impresses me. Watched some of the Expanse on Amazon and picture was amazing even though it's not 4K (using a 4K firestick)

What's the problem? It's cheap and easy (on-line application), and the chances are the defendant (Samsung?) will either settle out of court (because they don't need the hassle or publicity) or not turn up. What have you got to lose, apart from £25? Too many people allow these companies to get away with crap service!

And if they do turn up and resist the claim, their fixed costs of attending, likely more than the TV.

Only if you lose (I did qualify my comment by saying "if you have the proof..."), but it is highly unlikely that you would have to pay costs to a company like Samsung as the judge takes into account the relative financial status of the two parties before awarding costs.
Will John Lewis or Richer Sounds price match this offer ?

Yeah I saw that and very nearly went for it. I'm hanging out for something around that price but with the 5 year guarantee if I can get it. Thing is I don't really need a new TV! I nearly went for the nu8000 at £699 so I'm surprised your deal for the ru8000 didn't get a hotter.
