Is the 55NU8000 at £700 from Argos a better deal if you can still find it (also comes with £150 soundbar, which is out of stock everywhere)? I assume just 1 year warranty from both Argos and AO.

Think I read somewhere that the previous model, NU8000, is almost identical, but has a higher build quality.

Voted hot.

The RU8000 is actually a downgrade overall compared to the NU8000 series. In fact, almost all of the R (2019) TV's have been downgraded from their NU (2018) counterparts.

Excerpt from RTINGS review of the RU8000:

The Samsung NU8000 is a bit better than the Samsung RU8000. The NU8000 also has a local dimming feature that can improve dark room performance. The NU8000 has better SDR peak brightness and is more suitable if you have a bright room. The NU8000 can also get brighter in HDR and has a better color volume, which is great for HDR content. The RU8000, on the other hand, has a lower input lag, good for gaming, and a faster response time, great for watching sports.

What about the RU7400, is that a decent TV?

RU7400 is decent, it's basically exactly the same as the NU7400, just running a later version of the Tizen OS. It also has more storage space allocated to apps, the NU7400 series has some issues with low memory.

There isnt a huge difference between the 7400 series and the base 7100 (also 7000) series. The biggest differences are a slightly brighter panel, slightly increased colour gamut, and the inclusion of Freesat. If you don't need Freesat, I'd go for the cheaper model.

What's the major difference in these two given the price differences?
