I saw both these tvs in currys yesterday, the 58 is a cheaper pannel and not as good as the 55” for the same price.

When run side by side the picture was much clearer and smoother on the 55”

i went with the 55” version

Are you sure? For the 58"?

Should I expire this as it was cheaper last week?

Is this hdr10?

It was cheaper last week but that code has now expired.

Unsure if this is just an 8-bit panel, or 8-bit+FRC - has anyone been able to find out?

Where’s the link for the 55, do you think it’ll be cheaper on Friday? Or is that a Curry’s Black Friday price

It may depend if the 58" was not set up correctly or it could be faulty?

The 55in version is the same price but you can get it down to £584.10 using code LSTV10. The code doesn't work on the 58in.

Is this basically for people who want to one-up other's who only have 55"?

It'll read HDR10 content, but it's not wide gamut and has no local dimming system so it's display abilities are basically just SDR.

TVs with substantially improved dynamic range are currently several times this price.

As far as I know there aren't any TVs on the market that claim HDR but don't support dithering.

Another debatable cheap tv deal ?

looked at it yesterday as before it had not been running, was playing blue planet , panel looked really poor,

Just brought this TV, was next to the 55" and 49".. picture looked the same stood few feet back apart from size obviously they were all playing some uhd blah blah demo and were all set in "retail" mode

So not sure why one you saw was a poor looking panel, unless wasn't setup in retail mode which always pumps up the pictures settings

The 55" has dropped to £599 now as well so to some the extra £50 may not be worth the extra 3"

£569 now for the 55" at JL. Not sure about the picture quality of this budget Black Friday 6120 model though. Might be better with the standard 6200 or 6400.
