With HDR technology you'll get scene-by-scene image mastering, so you'll be able to see the finer details in the picture, even when the setting is dark. Your old favourites will get a new lease of life, and new shows will burst from the screen.

Find shows you'll love

If you always seem to end up flicking backwards and forwards through all your streaming and TV content platforms, the Universal Guide is going to make life a lot simpler.

With all your favourites like Netflix, Prime Video, BBC iPlayer all in one place, switching between your on-demand shows and movies couldnt be easier - you'll get recommendations based on what you love to watch too. Even better, with One Remote functionality, you can control all your connected devices with just the one TV remote, so there will be less clutter on your coffee table.

Great spot and in my opinion the best make we only buy Samsung TV's
ChampionshipManager01/10/2019 17:19

58" is too big for a TV.

I see your problem. You been playing Championship Manager in your mum's box bedroom since 1995. Get a job...get a bigger room....upgrade your 14inch portable tv

Can't find the width of the legs. With no central support I'd need to know if this will fit on my dust magnet of a glass table. Anyone know please?

This is exactly what I am looking for but my OH is obsessed with hz refresh rates and I believe this TV is only 60hz - do these figures matter any more and is 60hz high enough? TIA x

I'd be interested as well
Only 1 year warranty with Curry's?

Surely this is off putting compared to 6 years offered with Richer Sounds.

Appreciate you have consumer rights to more than 1 year but the ease of RS wins hands down
Tvs coming in weird sizes now? 58?

Think this model has been around for a while but perfect for me; It's exactly the same width as the chimney breast I intend to mount it on...hides the cables going to the AV unit. Bingo.

Sounds great just used to seeing, 50, 55 to 60, 58 just ruins the simple numbers lol

So its my first time posting on here but i also posted a 55inch Samsung from Richer Sounds just because i value the 6 year guarantee too, but for some reason the deal was marked as 'Moderated' and never posted i'm not too sure why.

Plex is available on the Samsung store. There is some paid iptv apps on the store as well but you can easily sideload free ones
I looked at these, but they're let down by the lack of Freeview Play. Opted for the Hisense 7500 series instead (along with eBay 10% off), which worked out excellent value. First one has arrived today and very impressed.

Definitely read the reviews - everything I've seen on the Samsung 7100 series says it's not as good as Samsung's of previous years, and better is out there.

To you, clearly not, to your OH? I guess it depends if hes got a games console that can output at 120hz or if hes just heard that he "needs" it (similar to HDR 10 v HDR 8+2, many know about it and think that they NEED HDR10, but most don't actually know what the difference is )
Don't forget potential additional 10% off via Visa offers from your bank (First Direct or HSBC) and student discount from Student beans. I know it won't work for everyone, but someone can get it much cheaper when combining with those offers.

Abit confused as to why he thinks he needs more than 60hz, for a tv.

60hz is fone, if hes worried about gaming not sure any consoles can knock out 4k at 120fps.

Ah brilliant, thanks for the replies.
This was £431 on ebay yesterday with the 10% off code.

Looked at maybe buying it but put off by the reviews for the 55 inch version on the John Lewis site.

Unless the 58" version is superior then I'd say the 55" one with a 5 year guarantee at £450 at John Lewis is a better deal anyway.

60hz and 120hz on modern TVs are nothing about frame rates, it's to do with how well the TV can handle motion. A 120hz TV will do a better job if you watch a lot of sports for example, as it will handle the change from frame to frame much better.

I'd say you need it if you watch a lot of sports and don't mind paying the money for one.
58" is too big for a TV.
