I'm suprised this is cold. it's the cheapest I've seen this set however I have recently purchased from RS and got them to price match £1298.

I'm looking at purchasing 65KS8000 is there much difference between the KS7000 & 8000?

ks7000 is a 8bit panel, the stand is on both ends of the set and it has common issues with the back plastic getting hot and coming away.

the ks8000 is a 10bit panel with a centred stand, also has a more premium finish with no faults.

im waiting for a good price on the 55KS8000 this week

Rubbish. The ks7000 is 10 bit.

Give that child a gold star for his maths

thank you Paul i wasn't aware of the fault with the 7000

Post # 1128 & 1140 confirms this is a 10 bit panel(IN THE UK, 8-BIT IN USA), although in fairness it did seem to take Samsung a while to give a fully straight answer.

People on AV forums and on here keep posting displayspecifications.com/en as the source for this set being 8-bit but I wouldn't take anything that site says as gospel, not saying it's not right for a lot of models but it doesn't get it's info from anywhere others can't access.

In fact if you scroll to the bottom of the home page you will see the following message which confirms mistakes could be present on the site:

it's a 10 bit panel. this has been discussed several times already and it's been confirmed by samsung. I don't understand why this misinformation keeps popping up. also the plastic and case issues is also seen on the ks8000. What I would say is what's the big deal. If you have warranty and it happens it will get replaced. hence why I bought from RS 6 year warranty

It won't get "replaced" the plastic case will be merely glued back on.

I'd have thought someone calling themselves goonerfan would have a great sense of humour but it would appear no to be so (_;)

there you go it's sorted. does it really matter if it's glued in a samsung factory or in your home.
