I bought this a week ago from Appliances Online for £1849.99 so I'm slightly miffed but it's a brilliant tv. The UHD upscaling is superb and it has SO many features.

Currently retailing for £2299.99 in Currys and it's in store if you want to view.

Worth a call to AO CS, see if they will do anything for you under the 7 day window, their customer service team are pretty on the ball and you never know OR you could just send it back under the 14 day window for returns [if it still exists] and get it from Ask again

Trust me, I have been reading up! But by the time I packed it all and arranged a courier it'd be far too much hassle. It's my late Christmas overtime treat to myself so I'll take the hit this time! :-)

No worries, I would however, still call them, even if it was only a quid, as it looks like you got the end of line stock they had, not the current retail sets, you never know, they might chuck a soundbar/blu-ray player/% off your next purchase your way, for just being cheeky|bothering|being genuine!

John [doubt they will put you through to him first time!] is a genuine boss bloke and with all the recent [last 3 weeks] crap over earnings/predictions, sure they might keep genuine, retail buyers like yourself happy ;-)

You can always point them to this thread, we do it a lot and it always helps for companies/sellers to get some input for real... from real buyers, unlike all the rubbish on facebook/twitter/twellow etc etc they trawl through everyday!

    Anyway

+1 on AskDirect [very good, cash rich, always have a deal, round the corner from the 1st Google store, company] Price!
+1 for AO customer service and looking after real Buyers!

Thanks mate. That's very kind and one of the best responses I've read on here.

I'll drop them an email later today.
Did anyone actually buy it from here as its showing out of stock
where is the option to buy this
    Unavailable ?

These are good for personal one to one viewing but not from an angle or where you might be seated well away from the set. My own hifi specialist described them as furniture rather than a upgrade to an existing TV of the same size.

would be interested in knowing which particular model in 65" would you recommend otherwise?
still don't understand the purpose of 4k for anything but gaming.

I still hear the same thing people say on dvd vs bluray. 1080p does look blocky on 50"+ screen so this is where 4k will help. Guess you have to see to believe.
I would buy this today if I had the space!!
As there is no 'add to basket' button Im guessing this isnt actually available to buy?
I have the 55 inch one with 3d ........ I paid £2700 last year when it first came out ...... ide hold out another couple of months until the 3D version comes down in price ....... 4K and 3D wildlife is truly amazing ........ heat added

I project 1080p onto a 100" screen and I can assure you it doesn't look blocky even from 3 feet away!

    I have the Samsung UE65HU8200 3d version
The curve on blurays makes distance scenes like corridors etc look as thogh the tv goes back for miles
THe 4k upscaler dvd player up scales to ag near as good a 4k quality as you can get, sometime cant even tell the difference
    Truly breath taking
Although 4k content is few and far between the upsclae on blurays is virtally as good
amazing and 3d depth is better because of the curve
SO although more than happy with the TV
With Samsung themselves its another story
purchased Dec and still not received cashback or free wireless hub and the UHD free movies are not compatible and still no workrouundoO

    Think they meant Ask Direct.

1080p does look blocky on 50"+ screen

How close do you sit to it? I think you'd need to be within about six feet of a 50 inch 1080p screen to discern any "blockiness".

Would you happen to know when an OLED 65" 4k curved TV will be available to purchase for £1499.99?

    No? Didn't think so.

Really - how does it scale up for cinemas then?

Aren't films for cinema projected in 4K, which is roughly 4 times the pixels of 1080p?

If you can see "blockiness" on a 55" screen with 1080p, wouldn't it stand to reason that a cinema projection at 4K would look like Minecraft???

And yet the principal of curved screens is to pull distant objects in the edge areas closer to the viewer. It's a gimic. Even most cinema screens are no longer curved like they used to be. There are plenty of respectable and honest AV specialist websites confirming there are no visual benefits having a curved screen. Any large screen with the latest panel is going to look stunning anyway.

Curved screens are curved for several reasons, not just one. Better immersion and depth being 2. Not sure about the the immersion, but can definitely agree with better depth. When watching a quality source, images have great depth, so much so that they almost have a 3d look to them. There are also respected a/v websites saying there are visual benefits. These are matters of opinion. I have a samsung curved 4k, and am personally well happy with my purchase.

Been going to cinemas for 40+ years. I've rarely, if ever, seen a curved cinema screen.

    Ultra HD is 4K.
I have this tv , got if from JL in November for around £2400
It's a good telly, I watched Netflix breaking bad and the films that come with it in 4k which are freekin awesome - but there is no 4k content really out there so mainly watching freeview still lol. Got the curved Soundbar with it and it's a nice enough set up. Ps4 isn't 4k so don't expect much on that front. It's a big tv. 4k is great but content still hasn't picked up enough. This is a bargain. Heat
