"Is the Samsung UE65JS9000 worth it? We think so. It is an excellent TV from the top of a series that has done extremely well. We like the big-screen picture, we like the sound, and we like its smart features. Factor in the discounted price – around £1000 less than at launch – and this becomes a very tempting proposition indeed."

I don't blame you smiler594, I have wanted one for ages, but I'll have to wait for the KS9000 to come down in price.

They took the bolts off for me in the store. Tested the screen for defects, ran the demo, checked round the back, and confirmed each and every part.

Someone tell me where in the uk you can buy a telly of this jaw dropping quality with a 5 year warranty included for less than £900?

I'm ready for the Euros, and off to pub now to celebrate ! I've done my bit today for hotuk, guys have a good one!
Warrington have one but won't sell as belongs to Samsung oO
So jealous! Nice one!
Maidstone, medway and Thurrock all have confirmed to me that they cannot sell the TV as it's property of Samsung.

OP is one lucky man :-)

Hmmm, I think someone in store will be getting a severe ballocking for selling a manufacturer owned demo product!

Yep - it seems that way as most of the manufactures (LG, Samsung) put their own displays in to Curry's, which they tweak the picture etc for maximum effect.
Woohoo.
On the off chance, I went into the Medway store and they agreed to take it off the wall and sell it to me.
Bummer was there is no stand or remotes.
Trying to sort a stand out now as I don't want to wall mount it and ordered a replacement smart remote for £59.60 online.
Have a Logitech Harmony which will do for the standard stuff.
As long as I get the stand OK, I am well chuffed and thanks to the Medway manager.

Thanks Smiler.
Going to try ringing Samsung tomorrow about the stand, but if you do end up with a spare, I'll be very interested as someone on eBay wants £150 for one!

Fair play and well done, but the remotes are only about £24 on ebay - part number BN59-01221B
Thanks Roderz.
I stupidly scoured eBay for stands but not remotes!
I've already ordered one now at £59.60 - doh!

Smiler, I rang to sort out the 5 year guarantee which I didn't get in the shop and I was directed simply to register the TV on the Samsung website.
Is this not correct?
Original Poster Banned
Sampain, yes that should be fine - when I rang up I got through to their customer services where a girl took all my details and the serial number located on the back of the telly, she gave me a reference number and said the warranty certificate will be posted to you by end of next week. I think what you've done amounts to the same thing - but so long as you get some form of emailed confirmation of your warranty. If not ring up customer service and ask for it.

Have you done the cash for goals yet? It expires this Wed!! I've gone for Engerland!!

Edited by: "smiler594" 6th Jun 2016
Thanks again.
Yes, gone for England and looking forward to watching them on a snazzy new huge telly thanks to you!
Folks just so I understand the process, are you essentially walking into a Currys or PC World and then walking up to a sales advisor and asking him/her to check the stock of the mentioned product code?
Then if it comes up in stock, the price should be set at £899 and you request to buy it, at which point they will confirm whether or not the display model for sale?

Sorry for all the questions just want to try and understand before I try to buy this later
acsheepy - that's exactly what happened with me at Medway.
I spoke to "Tony" and he checked the price and it came out at £1700, but out of stock, then he said "Oh, it's ex-display and it's £899".
He then went and asked the store manager who told me there was no stand or remote, but if I wanted it I could have it.
He and Tony then struggled for 20 minutes to get it down from the wall, get the wires, one connect box etc, bubble wrap it and process the sale.
I have registered cash for goals and have to ring them tomorrow to get my 5 year guarantee sent out.
They also signed me up to "Know-How" free for 2 months (running from 1st July) and told me to cancel it if I didn't want it, otherwise it would be £3.50 per month.
Just waiting on Samsung to tell me how I can get a new stand and have ordered a remote.
Job done.

This thing is full HDR - top of the range !!]

Please stop.
Curved TVs are sooo last year.... LOL at anyone buying this and helping Samsung shift the long term contract they made for curved screens and now regret it.

Hi Mate, thanks for the heads up. It couldn't have come at a better time as I was about to buy the KS model! I managed to get this deal at the West Drayton branch yesterday. I had gone to several places that had them in stock (Staines, Brentford) but neither of them would sell it to me as apparently it belonged to Samsung, and therefore they were not allowed to sell it till Samsung physically took it down. However I have found that the Curry's staff are turning customers away when asking for this item as they are wanting it for themselves. West Drayton were not going to sell it, but i managed to convince the manager who allowed the sale. It took them a while to find the accessories and thankfully i have the entire package. I was advised that i couldn't get the 5 year warranty as i took out the insurance for £3.50 a month, which supersedes that warranty as it is better. Is this correct?
Thanks again buddy.
Buffting87 & smiler594! Thank you for your input (I'm still new to this)!

Buffting87 sounds like I'm having the same experience as you did! I live in NI and was told in a Currys store that they didn't have it in stock (despite me seeing it on display)! They told me the only store that had it in stock in NI was a PC World which I drove to. They then confirmed it was in stock then disappeared for about 5 minutes to have a private conversation then came back and told me it is "reserved and non negotiable."

I suspect from the discussions and body language that it is being kept for staff. I asked about how long the reservation lasts for and was told it would be bought soon. I am going to try again tomorrow to see if I can get talking to either the manager or someone with authority!

Does anyone have any additional suggestions from they're experience to make this dream a reality lol?
Buffting 87 they gave me 2 months know how insurance free, but I still rang them today and they confirmed their system showed I have a 5 year guarantee on it.
I wouldn't leave it at that if I were you.
Acsheepy, I totally understand where you are coming from. I drove around for two hours all over London to get this. The lovely lady who got the manager to authorise the sale had an argument with her colleague in front of me, as he was adamant that they couldn't sell it as it was samsungs property, despite being told that the manager agreed to sell it. I think he wanted the Tv for himself and was upset about it. Another fella working there told me he couldn't find the accessories. I think he assumed I was going to walk away and not buy it. I then said I'd still take it without the accessories, then what happens? they suddenly find them lol. Staines branch on the other hand told me its reserved for a business customer three days ago and then he told me most of these would be bought by the staff. My mate managed to reserve one today at a branch in Essex through the currys customer support line. It was a good 30 miles drive for him to go and collect. Whilst on his way to the branch, they called him saying that they could not sell it as it was samsungs. He still went there and had a massive argument threatening to make a complaint with the store as they had misled him and wasted his time. Thankfully they came to an agreement that he could have it but he would have to wait till Samsung removed it. Therefore he paid for the item, but will receive it in the next couple of weeks. Funny thing is, the manager came over and stated that they allowed him to have it, as it was their fault for misleading, but it was actually reserved for the manager himself for his father to purchase lol. He was gutted. Sneaky people. Best bet is to try and reserve it and then kick up a fuss if they won't give it. Or just try your luck and ask them to take it down as others have done so at other stores. Give a few examples.

Sampain- how do I get the five year warranty? Just call them up? I spoke to them yesterday and couldn't help. The guy working there said that knowhow cover more things than the standard warranty, and that I could do an insurance claim if there was something wrong with it and that they would replace it with a same spec model (Ks model

A huge thanks to the OP for the deal of century! Me and a friend managed to bag ourself a TV each although it wasn't easy. I got two question how do I go about getting the 5 years warranty and a tv stand? I was told Samsung does the 5 years warranty yet I couldn't find a single thing on their website about it. Regarding the stand some people are asking for £250 for just a stand!!!
On the warranty, I rang the number on the receipt and said I wanted to confirm I had a 5 year warranty.
The guy asked me if I was told it came with one, which is a yes.
I was put on hold several times and for quite a while .
He eventually said something to the effect of that he had found something confirming this was subject to the 5 year warranty, so I assumed he had found something from when they had proper stock of them, showing this model had the warranty.
It's NOT a Samsung warranty.
Hope this helps.
How did you find the product code for the tv and also how did you know they were selling their display units? Nothing mentioned online, only ask because I'm curious if other models have had the same treatment.

HiTnRun
I asked in store when I was there. Was so happy with my deal that I thought Id share it with the crowd here and make it as easy as possible for you. Without that code only the staff know about it, and they are the ones who never publicise their amazing deals on hotuk. They'd just get in trouble. This deal is a one off. Take advantage while you can. Simple as that. What beats me is not a single person who voted cold could post a better deal. There are 6 confirmed purchases so far and rising...
