Can anyone advise which is the better deal, this or the 65 inch Hisense for the same price?

hotukdeals.com/dea…606
Easily the Samsung.
Is this actually a Samsung or something else rebadged? Will it play 4k Netflix? I'm curious.
A ridiculous drop in price. Cheapest elsewhere seems to be £1200+

Hot.
HEAT on reduction ;-)

Great TV, but now selling for what it should have been in the first place at launch!

Make sure you get the light bleed / nos firmware update and install it via USB instead
of letting it over write the old version via OTA when you connect it to the web.

Upscale core is good on this model but dribbles a bit on some inputs that are not
4k in the real world. Liked it but now its a grand it will out sell the 2015 ones that
they could not shift in time for the ones coming in march. Had one end of 2014
and one of the best things was there was no lag while on PS4 etc etc.

Hi-Sense, much later build and technically superior to this [sept 2014] model ;-)

Had this one and the later 65" one after it, now have the Hi-Sense 65" and
was actually shocked at how much better the HS is all round
Debating buying this... Possible light bleed issues on the larger screens?..Voted hot for the price though!!

Hi 008, would you recommend it? I'm torn between buying this (at this very good price) or buy the the Lower end JS8500 SUHD 65" model, but is it worth forking out an additional £1.4k?... I need to be influenced to make my decision. Haha.

I have a feeling these panels will be a bit of a lucky draw if you can get a clean picture with no banding or clouding. This is coming from experience with this size screens.

Just an opinion, but I personally would go for this or the Hi-Sense 65" [only because it is £400 cheaper at the mo]
the issue with the JS8 SUHD range and the price of said sets, is you do not *really* get a lot for the extra £1200-2000.. we got the
HS 65" for 2 reasons, it was far later tech and the grand was the target price, it will be around until the 75/85"
Oled / quantum sets get shot down in flames when all the main manufacturers UHDR sets start coming to europe and we get a new 85" one.

This samsung has a stunning picture at 4k but as mentioned it did dribble a touch with up scaled stuff, we also
completely calibrated it [after firmware update] to suit the location it was setup in, it reset it self [power failure / spike
sometime last spring, when we turned it back on, the colour/contrast/black was completely factory default from the
update above.. it was better than when we *professionally* calibrated it!!

Not sure if you are buying one for a few years or update every year, but this is well worth the grand, as stated
when it first came out in nov 2014, it was way too expensive for the spec, this price makes it a very worth while
investment, especially if you like your TV / Films / Episodes of the Clangers etc etc ;-)

Hope that [sort of] helps bit!

PS: This TV + SkyQ UHD = you will not want to leave the couch / media room / bedroom again!!

Yes the JU series has HDMI 2.0. I would be concerned about the motion rate and 4:4:4 chroma on the lower-end models though. Worth a little more research, particularly if you're planning to use it as a PC display (I found HardForum a useful site for TV/PC feedback).

Agreed. Had Samsungs all my life but LG knocks spots off Samsungs these days.
Just bought the Samsung UE65JU7000 for £1200 and it is fantastic . Netflix/YouTube 4K all stream no probes and so do the other apps.
Perfect to last till 65" Oled 4K drop under £1500 (couple years)
Defy recommend
voted hot but horrible customer service from samsung.... i would never buy anything from samsung.. think twice about samsung customer service before buying.. check this on trustpilot.. uk.trustpilot.com/rev….uk

Lol I'm not surprised at all. Hi-Sense sponsor Red Bull Racing in F1. They provide all their visual displays. Only a supremely confident company with huge faith in their products would be willing to throw so much on the line in a team worth 100s of millions.

More than welcome Jai, you will be over the moon with it, especially the first time you fire up GTA V
on it!

The 4K [as already said by a few JU6 owners] is stunning and the real 4k netflix steam [subject to
having enough broadband speed!] is 2nd to none..

When ArrowXL [the white glove men] deliver it, make sure you unpack it and check for any front
lcd damage around the inside of the box at the front as the box it comes in and the packing has
a design fault, which if the box is hit/knocked/lent against at the top, will cause an issue, this is
NOT the tv, it is the packing around it, the guys should help/allow you to check it for any physical
damage as they are good like that from ArrowXL, not like the jokers that Tesco used to use before
they went skint!!!

Once you are ready with the Sammy, put it in the actual area / media room / bedroom where you are
going to use it and let it adjust to the room temp *before* you plug anything into it or power it on..

Use the usb file from above to hard reset the firmware eg: put the file on a usb stick [any size] then
turn the sammy on, go to settings and do firmware update from *usb* [tip: do not let it connect or
try to connect to the wifi / cat 5, if you wifi is on, turn it off while you set your tv up] stick only..

Once done, turn the power on and off at least 4 times to clear the rom cache, that's it!

Adjust to your fav colours / settings and enjoy

The PG20 still rocks with the best snoopy, but other than the fact you get those brilliant blacks, think
you would be blown away on the 4K of this or the HiSense 65" sets.. you could hang it out for about
another 2 years with the G20 until UHDR lands but I think that 65" oled will still be £2k+ even then..

If this TV was still £1200-1500 as it is in most places, would not bother.. but at a grand it is a steal!
Wish we had someone close enough to put it side by side with the HS 65" but our JU6 has gone to
a good home and gifting it made the health staffs year at a local charity, so happy all round!
snoopy18

Tricky one... I still use a 42" Panasonic UT50 as my main TV, then a 50" Panasonic CX700 4K for my PC.
Comparing the two I still think the 2012 plasma is fantastic for 1080p content, unless you have a load of 4K content lined up it's not worth it yet.

I presume you mean lg ec930v oled...I've just bought above and its not 999 .got JL to price match marks electrical from 1299 to 1229 .HD to HD the oled wins but after owning a Sammy UE 55 6510 4k the oled non 4k is no match for a good 4k TV like a Samsung .Lack of 4k content was my reason for going oled .This seems a good deal for a bag of sand.
