Yeah this is the problem with comments like the previous posters. Yes, this is edge lit but its all relative to the price. That's like me commenting on an ad for a Ford Focus, saying it's a cold deal because it's not a Mercedes, doesn't make sense and doesn't help anyone whose wanting a TV within a certain budget/spec.

Edge lit and basic HDR. Not great.

Surely it must be great for the price?

65 inch for £524. That's a great deal. Heat added.

You are criticising a budget TV for not being a luxury TV and failing to mention it has a budget price point.

I bought from them before infact I bought a 65 inch Samsung TV 6 years ago customer service is shit and TV was busted within 1 year. I would stay away regardless of the price.

Good for the price though.

The contrast on this TV is excellent, the viewing angle is not.

My main concern would be that it's not very bright at only 150 cd/m2, which may not be bright enough for a bright room.

I think for this reason I'd go for the RU7400 which is a bit brighter and also has a wider colour gamut.
Good TV 📺 8000 series 55-65 inch supports variable refresh rates 120hz and Freesync for console gamers.

Within a year is OK, you're covered.

13 months would be the killer.

Certainly safer to buy from a company with a longer warranty i.e. John Lewis, Richer Sounds or Costco.

I agree.
As some people are trashing this for roughly the same price what’s better in the 65”?
Good price but I returned this as I wasn’t satisfied with the picture quality
7400 model is much better.

Hang your head in shame for that comment.

I’ve been on the look out for 60” plus uhd tv and yes the room can take it as it’s my man cave, but don’t want to pay much more than £500. It would prove more helpful id suggest if posters offer alternatives, ie is the Hisense 7100 a better build quality than this?
I have the tv, bought from this seller at this price (on the eBay 20% deal last week). It’s a lot of tv for the price, and Samsung vs. ‘supermarket’ 65” alternatives is a no brainer. Is there a tad of light-bleed from the corner edges? Yes. It is cutting edge HDR? No. But it is a great picture to my eyes (in 1080 and 4k), and an immersive experience for £500 (and that was my budget...)

TVPlus is the reason why I won't buy Samsung TVs anymore. Every time I turn on my TV it turns it onto a TV plus channel which is just movie trailers on repeat. I delete the TVPlus channels and they just come back after a few weeks and back to square one.
Not to mention the advert which appears on the home screen of the tv.

This “feature” annoys the life out of me. It seems to only have started doing it in the last 3 months after a software update.

A whole lotta tv for the price. Great deal
I have the previous sibling to this, the nu7400 65".
Don't go comparing the high end stuff that oled's have. It's a cracking TV if you have that budget.
4k is excellent once you get the settings from a forums guys. HD also becomes a lot more watchable than factory settings. And gaming on a PS4 pro ..... Wow!

Just so that I understand, when you turn on the TV it doesn't automatically go to the last channel that you were watching, and there is no way to change that?
That would be beyond annoying, it bad enough if my youngest has been watching and it's on the channel with the Friends repeats!

Personally thinks it's more about the size, there's no question this is hot if you need a 65" but there's an incentive to think if you go smaller, you'll get a much better TV. Would a 55" or even 50" do?

Already got 50inch TVs we’ve had extensions on rooms this year and they are really small in there unfortunately 😳
Price is £559 direct from Crampton & Moore cramptonandmoore.co.uk/sam…tml
You can then get John Lewis to price match, and get a 5 year guarantee for only £35 more than the ebay price.

They have also got the 55" for £419, which is the one I've just ordered from John Lewis as they agreed a price match

On a website for cheapskates no less myself included
Not sure what people don't get about deals on larger tvs. If you want a cheap large TV this deal is a no brainer. If you want a quality large TV look to spend 3x as much.
